Username
editWelcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Hcpds", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Jack Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".
Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a change of username, by completing this form, that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. TimothyJosephWood 20:38, 10 November 2016 (UTC)

editHello, Hcpds. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 00:39, 12 November 2016 (UTC)

editPlease read wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines carefully and respond appropriately. I have reverted your edits to the article Harvard Center for Population and Development Studies again because they do not confirm to various guidelines including the use of external links which should not be within articles; formatting which should accord with the manual of style; and the use of promotional or non-neutral language without reference to third party sources. Thank you, Melcous (talk) 22:38, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

editPlease do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Harvard Center for Population and Development Studies. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 22:21, 11 July 2017 (UTC)
- I don't know if you are not reading these messages, but can I ask you once again to stop adding the same content to the article without further discussion. You have a clear conflict of interest, and the content you keep adding is not in keeping with wikipedia's policies or style. The best thing to do is use the article's talk page to explain what you would like changed in the article and why, or use this talk page here. But continuing to make the same changes without explanation of engagement with other editors can lead to you being prevented from editing. Thank you Melcous (talk) 21:31, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

editYou should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.
If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page.
You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Thank you. I JethroBT drop me a line 19:37, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
