Promotional editing

edit

Hello, I'm Edgar181. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. [1] -- Ed (Edgar181) 14:34, 30 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Sorry, I did not believe that the links that I was posting were spammy or promotional only. I believe the reason I got banned was for my edits to the 'Brief history of robotics' source that was being used. I noticed that there was a link that was only referencing a "bluehost" advertisement website and the source was nothing to do with what it was originally intended to be, thus I changed the link. The link I changed it to was by a company called "Luca Robotics", however the article they had posted was non-promotional and was just an informative article that they had released, I don't understand why I am being penalised for this? Decline reason:

Mr. Hedgecox, I could be mistaken, but you appear to be a director at Luca Robotics, and the only thing you have done on Wikipedia is add links to that company. If you wish to continue editing Wikipedia you will need to completely refrain from adding anything relating to your company to Wikipedia. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆 𝄐𝄇 16:48, 3 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
