editGreat job on the Michelle Dipp article ..i have removed the tag (new article )...
opps and fyi you will need to email permistion to use the photo..see here..Buzzzsherman (talk) 17:34, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
thanks!
editThanks for reviewing! I forwarded my email conversation granting me permission to the photo to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. Is there another step I can take to tell them I have permission? The email I forwarded was from Michelle Dipp herself so I'm not sure what else they are looking for. Thanks again!
- I would email them again ..telling them the tag is still there..and ask if what you sent is ok!!.. Ask for a reply to your email...Buzzzsherman (talk) 17:49, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Hello!
editThere is some concern if she qualify s for wikipidia...Would you mind if we moved the article to a private page that you can edit, see if we can address the notability concerns? I just dont want it deleted and your work is lost. I will assist you in this matter if i can.. MORE INFO SEE HERE...Buzzzsherman (talk) 19:30, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

editAs noted here, there are some concerns abut the article with respect to notability. These may be issues you can address, but they might take some time. There's a possibility that someone might request that the article be deleted before you can address the concerns.
To be safe, it would be wise to save a copy of your work elsewhere (but if you don't and it does get deleted, let me know and I'll tell you how to get it back.)
I suggest that you consider moving the page to a user page. You don't need to know how to do that, you just need to understand what it means: A Page in main space (where is it now) is likely to get indexed by search engines, so people who are searching for Michelle Dip are likely to find this page. I assume this is a plus.
On the other hand, a page in main space can be deleted in a relatively short period of time if it doesn't meet Wikipedia standards (and it doesn't). One way of deleting (WP:CSD) could happen in days or shorter. Another way of deleting (WP:AfD) takes at least seven days and you will get notice.
As an alternative, if the page is a user subpage, it won't get indexed by search engines, (bad) but it won't get deleted by the zealous editors who want to delete everything that doesn't meet standards. As a subpage, you could work on meeting the notability standard, and when ready move it back to the main page. If you agree, I'll do it for you. --SPhilbrickT 19:45, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
The user subpage might be a good idea. I'm reading up on the notability guidelines to get a better idea of what information is missing and what is needed for her to be notable. While I figure that out, it would be great if you could help make this a user subpage. Please let me know if you need any additional information beforehand. Thanks so much! - ok i have put a copy for you here User:Holly2305/Michelle Dipp So Sphilbrick we can remove the other page if you wish.. !!Buzzzsherman (talk) 20:28, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- Holly, we haven't done this exact sequence before as far as I know, so we might be breaking new ground. (I was thinking move rather than copy, but let's work with this). I suggest you work on the version that Buzzzsherman created, and see if you can address the notability issues. You may be anxious to address them as soon as possible but you now can take whatever time you need. When you think you are ready, if the original main space article still exists, you can copy the new material over the old (but check with us first, because if someone else made changes, we need to do a merge, not copy). If it has been deleted in the meantime, it will be even easier. Feel free to post with specific questions at wp:feedback, and maybe we can turn this into an acceptable article. BTW, I see someone is trying to delete the picture of Michelle, and I know you have taken the steps to provide the right permission. Sometimes the lefthand doesn't always talk to the right hand, so if the image does get deleted because someone missed that you arranged for permission, don't worry, we can fix that.--SPhilbrickT 02:18, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks so much for your help with this! I'm definitely new to this and trying to figure things out along the way. I've now sent my permission to use the photo to the specified email twice and used the template email they suggested. Hopefully they will see that before it gets deleted. If it does get deleted then I suppose I'll just try again! Holly2305 (talk) 18:09, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
- I still have some concerns about this article - at the moment it reads like something from GSK's website or a resumé, promoting the individual. She probably is notable according to the WP:BIO guidelines, but it is too much of a hagiography at the moment. – ukexpat (talk) 17:59, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
