Wiki editors? Could you check the draft biography re Gough on User Page: JaneFaber? What does it need to go forward? JaneFaber (talk) 16:45, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
- Here are some suggestions! Hope they're useful. This is carefully sourced and about someone who's clearly notable - I look forward to seeing it in mainspace!
- rewrite the lede to give it a very straightforward first sentence, and slightly shorten the phrasing, e.g. : Barry Morton Gough (born 1938, Victoria, British Columbia) is a Canadian maritime and naval historian. In over a dozen books, and several hundred articles and reviews, he has worked to recast and reaffirm the imperial foundations of Canadian history. Active in national and international venues, Gough has made...
- as an alternative to the worldcat search you reference, you could use http://www.worldcat.org/identities/lccn-n50-34746 , for which there's a template {{worldcat id|id=lccn-n50-34746|name=Gough, Barry M. }}
- more wikilinks! e.g. you can wikilink G. S. Graham (note the form of the WP:piped link I've used here), Rhodes Professor of Imperial History, Victoria High School (note the piping on the link here to get rid of the parenthetic disambiguation)
- use asterisks to bullet your lists (a) of works, and (b) of external links
- a few more categories are possible: I suggest Category:Canadian historians, Category:Historians of Canada, and Category:Living people. Category:War of 1812 needs some spaces to turn it blue. On the other hand, Mackenzie doesn't have his own category, and Gough isn't a Canadian literary award (even if he's an award-winner) so I'd remove those.
- Finally, many of your references could be more briefly & readably expressed by using square brackets to hide the detail of the urls behind named links - e.g. rather than online at http://books.google.ca/booksid=3NSTvJvIZR4C&pg=PA634&dq=International+Who's+Who+%2B+Barry+M.+Gough&hl=en&ei=v5hoTaeoNpCisAO10bCmBA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=2&ved=0CDEQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q&f=false you could say online here

Another kindly editor (such credentials, these editors) has done two redirects on variants of the title name and added a number of links. JaneFaber (talk) 23:21, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
