Follow up on Fridays for Future

Replying here rather than the talk page for Greta Thunberg. And you are free to delete this note of course — and I guess you will. I have followed Fridays for Future from the outset: doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5658931. And I agree, it will be interesting to see how events develop. Thanks, and I too have been following the movement since an exasperated teenager, in desperation, chose to sit down and sit out. Her action reminded me of the indie movie Amazing Grace and Chuck (1987) in which "A little league player named Chuck refuses to ever pitch again until nuclear weapons are disarmed." The actor Gregory Peck forfeited his fee to ensure the low-budget movie saw the light of day. In Greta's case, unbeknownst to her, I am sure, her life mirrored art. I monitor Thunberg's page to ensure vandalism and erroneous or unsubstantiated posts are removed, reframed, or supported with citations. As for my statement that I delete everything here: it is something I posted years ago to discourage Wiki Awards and frivolous chatter. In time, I will archive our conversation too. Thanks for curating Greta's page. I guess my earlier contribution was a bit strident and premature for Wikipedia. I have followed Greta's arc as well. I wrote her a letter of support as she sat outside the Swedish Parliament that first time, addressed to her at that location. And the Swedish postal service never returned my letter so I guess they delivered it? My first effort at climate campaigning 33 years ago is up on Zenodo. Just for your information. All the best.
