Editing of Al Wong post...

Hi Jooojay, Thanks for your feedback on Al Wong's page. I am Al Wong's studio assistant and have been working with the artist for many years. He recently discovered his profile on Wikipedia and wanted to add his missing exhibitions and films. Some of these exhibitions were from the late 1970's and early 1980's so linking to specific articles on the web is not possible, especially for the international shows. In some cases, there were exhibition catalogs created but in many instances, there isn't a written reference to refer to except for installation photographs of the show itself. Al is a leading San Francisco Bay Area figure both in experimental film and installation and I really need to reflect the complete picture of his artistic production over the past 50 years. I am very open to feedback about how to best do this. For example, some of his early films are works purely in his own collection and they cannot easily be referenced externally except for the fact that I have personally viewed and cataloged all of these works in his archive. To some extent, he is under recognized which is why making many references is a challenge in this article. Please advise how I can update his record. His legacy as an Asian American innovator really needs to be understood widely. Best, Wong Bowfa --WongBowFa (talk) 20:49, 1 May 2021 (UTC)

@WongBowFa: hello, I had left you details on your talk page on how to request edits on the talk page of the article since this is considered a conflict of interest by Wikipedia standards. If something is not published already, we would not be publishing it on Wikipedia per Wikipedia:No original research. Best of luck to you. If you have further questions about this after you have reviewed the talk page information you're welcome to either ask me, or visit the teahouse. Jooojay (talk) 21:08, 1 May 2021 (UTC)

  Hello, Jooojay. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page List of Rhode Island School of Design people, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.

I do edit many art and design related articles and I am a very active editor here, but I do not have a conflict of interest to Rhode Island School of Design. Jooojay (talk) 09:53, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

feedback request

hi Jooojay, I have two articles that are being challenged. I am relatively new at this. I think they are now improved. I would appreciate your feedback to improve further, if you have the time. They are: Draft:Jan_Rindfleisch and WORKS_San_José Thanks very much, Maxmarsh2021 (talk) 00:07, 26 May 2021 (UTC)Maxmarsh2021

@Maxmarsh2021: Hi, I reviewed your two articles listed here and helped with the clean up for the Works/San José. The article draft for Jan Rindfleisch still need a lot of deep clean up regarding the citations, and keeping it sounding more neutral. I don't think I can be of much help with the Jan Rindfleisch article. Best regards, Jooojay (talk) 13:03, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
@Jooojay: Thank you very much. I will continue to research this process and work on it. Maxmarsh2021
@Maxmarsh2021: If you need additional help with questions, you are more than welcome to drop me a line here too. Best of luck to you! Jooojay (talk) 15:24, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
