  Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that in this edit to Maithripala Sirisena, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 07:53, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Maithripala Sirisena, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Jim1138 (talk) 08:06, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

That was not a sufficient reason by any means. The sources are wp:reliable sources. If you disagree, discuss on talk:Maithripala Sirisena per wp:BRD Jim1138 (talk) 08:07, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Please don't make aggressive reverts i have edited his name because sinhala characters are differnt from how its written and presidents children's name was not in full.Is that wrong to update wikipedia with real information because its about a living character and section under him regarding his brothers death should not be attached with his article.it is not etical to do such things.because president has nothing to with his brothers death.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Journalistdmy (talkcontribs)

You have a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Journalistdmy. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Maithripala Sirisena, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Jim1138 (talk) 08:06, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

What matters on Wikipedia

edit

Please reply on this page and not on my page. Preface your message (for me) with {{yo|Jim1138}} Your message ~~~~ (leave out the nowiki stuff) The four tildes "~~~~" gets transcribed to your signature. Always sign on talk pages with four tildes.

What is important on Wikipedia is that content be wp:verifiable and reference a wp:reliable source.
You have indicated that your interest is for Maithripala Sirisen and not Wikipedia. That is called a conflict of interest and such editing is strongly discouraged.
Now, are you saying that the Maithripala Sirisen government is not having issues with nepotism? The sources seem quite reliable so I doubt the government has cleaned up. So, the section on nepotism should stay. If you disagree, please discuss on talk:Maithripala Sirisen (see above and wp:talk page guidelines) Or, you could open a ticket on wp:BLP/N Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 08:37, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop making disruptive edits, as you did at Maithripala Sirisena.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Jim1138 (talk) 09:19, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

You have a conflict of interest, you were told how to proceed, and you have bypassed that procedure. Stop it. Jim1138 (talk) 09:19, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

You obviously have a conflict of interest with regard to Maithripala Sirisena as implied here but have continued to edit the article to remove sourced content while ignoring the advice and links you have been given. You need to state your conflict of interest here on this page, and to stop editing the article directly and instead requesting edits on the article talkpage. Please do so, or you will in fact be blocked from editing. I strongly advise you to read the policies and guidelines you have already been linked to.
