- Zakariya's page mentions that he is of Arab origin so I added the list of Arab scholars, I don't understand why it was removed? Joushal (talk) 22:13, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
- Can you answer? Where is the disruptive? The page mentions he is from Arab origin with a source so why was my contribution deleted? Joushal (talk) 07:50, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Joushal, you're right that there's a source for this edit of yours, but not everything for which a source exists is included. For example, some information is verifiable in sources but simply not significant enough to include, a situation which we call wp:undue here. In general, inclusion of any information needs to have consensus among editors (see wp:onus), though of course those who are opposed to inclusion need to give a good reason why not to include (like, e.g., it being wp:undue).Perhaps more to the point though is that you are stumbling upon a widespread annoyance with people coming to Wikipedia only to make edits related to the ethnicity of important historical figures. Focusing on that topic in particular is a strong sign that a user is not here to build an encyclopedia. What we want is to create good articles offering reliable information on all aspects of these historical figures, in which their ethnicity is often of very little concern, also among scholars. It's just not very important, except to those who are more interested in national pride than in history itself. Try to focus on different aspects in your editing, and you'll see that you'll be getting much more positive reactions from other editors. ☿ Apaugasma (talk ☉) 13:56, 17 July 2022 (UTC)
