Disambiguation link notification for November 24
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2015 Pacific hurricane season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Big Island. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of 2016 North Indian Ocean cyclone season, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.bing.com/knows/2014%20north%20indian%20ocean%20cyclone%20season?mkt=zh-cn.
It is possible that the bot was mistaken and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

Your revert on 2016–17 South-West Indian Ocean cyclone season
I believe that you should have used an edit summary when you reverted an edit to 2016–17 South-West Indian Ocean cyclone season because the IP edit (whilst clearly not appropriate) was probably not delibrate vandalism. PC 896GD (talk) 12:53, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
- @PC 896GD: As the storm the IP added does not exist, it is clearly disruptive editing (if not vandalism), and hence does not required an edit summary. I have left a warning on the IP's talk page, seeing as it has made similar disruptive edits on other pages. ~ KN2731 {talk} 13:12, 2 October 2016 (UTC)

I'm nominating Hurricane Alex (2016) as a featured article candidate, is that alright?
I believe the article is extremely well written and detailed, and should be listed as one of the best articles on Wikipedia, but I wanted to ask a significant contributor to the article if that was okay. So, what do you think? Jdcomix (talk) 14:32, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Jdcomix: The article looks quite thorough and well-organised, and is indeed one of the best I've seen on Wikipedia so far, so go for it! Yvette
So you said that no agencies are issuing bulletins for Yvette that's why you removed the current infobox? Apparently BoM still issues bulletins, as BoM is the RSMC in that basin. Also before, I thought that Ex-TC means it was extratropcal but someone explained to me that is was still active and reverted my edits, so yeah. Typhoon2013 (talk) 23:01, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
- Well, actually you know what? Just discard this message. I've decided to rm the infobox, even though BoM still issues bulletins, it's an "Ex-TC", so yeah have a good Christmas and holidays. :) Typhoon2013 (talk) 23:18, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Typhoon2013: Oops. I saw BoM issue their last technical bulletin at approx 07:00 UTC yesterday, and assumed that it meant no more advisories would be issued. Sorry about that, and merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you too. ~ KN2731 {talk} 03:25, 25 December 2016 (UTC)

ACE units
Hey just saying thank you so much for your edits for adding the ACE units in for each Atl and EPac seasons, I really appreciate it :) . Though I am doing the other complicated basins such as the WPac, Nio, SPac, AusR and SWio basins, I'm doing the WPac first. I just realized this but how would we do it? Should we do ACE's from JTWC, JMA, or both? Both would be good imo but I just don't want to ruin the layout. Typhoon2013 (talk) 21:56, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
- Hi @Typhoon2013:, ACE is defined by the WMO as "a measure used by [NOAA] the activity of individual tropical cyclones and entire tropical cyclone seasons". Thus we should probably use the JTWC data to calculate ACE since it's the only agency monitoring WPac, Nio, SPac, AusR, SWio that is affiliated with NOAA, even though it's not a RSMC. ~ KN2731 {talk} 12:36, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
- Ok, yep, I knew it. Just double checking and thank you so much. I've already done calculating the total ACE in some seasons and basins. Typhoon2013 (talk) 12:44, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

February 2017
Hello KN2731. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that there is consensus that we shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and/or content (CSD A3) moments after they are created, as you did at Stefan Eriksson (Diplomat). It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course still be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. - GB fan 13:44, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

"Orphan mention"
Thanks for signaling the lack of links into the article on Liana Serbescu. I have added one from Silvia Serbescu (her mother and piano teacher) and one from Ethel Smyth, of whom Liana Serbescu has recorded piano works. A link from her former husband Mihai Gavrila will be added later, for personal reasons. Is this sufficient for removing the mention?
Jpkent (talk) 12:07, 14 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Jpkent: Yes, the tag can be removed now. A suggestion to further improving the article would be to add more inline citations to better support the content; I believe WP:BLP (a list of guidelines about writing about living persons), as well as WP:REF (a guide to referencing) could be of use. ~ KN2731 {talk} 05:06, 15 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi Dear KN2731, you deleted the article about Shenzhen Huaptec Co., Ltd. as it was considered advertising. Could you please explain why? The company is on the market for 8 years and it has 18 patents. Could you please underline some guidelines we should meet to be posted on Wikipedia. And could you kindly provide the deleted material for improvement?
Many thanks in advance. --Bananovaya (talk) 11:28, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
- Hello Bananovaya. The main issue with the article in question is that it needs to be written from a neutral point of view; we tend to avoid language that may seem promotional in nature, for example what we call peacock terms. Also, the article needs citations to multiple independent reliable sources to meet our notability guidelines. Some helpful guides would be Wikipedia:Your first article, Wikipedia:NPOV tutorial, and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations. - Just to add if you do wish to re-create the page, I would suggest starting from scratch and rewriting it, as the page was heavily promotional and not written from a neutral viewpoint at all. RickinBaltimore (talk) 11:54, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Pending changes reviewer granted
Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Saffir-Simpson Scale:
I didn't make the template change actually. All I did was moving Hurricane Richard to another place. Colored made the template change. — Preceding unsigned comment added by INeedSupport (talk • contribs) 13:46, 3 September 2017 (UTC)
- @INeedSupport: Apologies if the automated edit summary confused you. I reverted the template change by going to the last unaffected revision, which happened to have been made by you and hence showed up in the edit summary. I believe the changes you made are still there. (Also please sign your comments on talk pages by appending four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end.) ~ KN2731 {t ⋅ c} 04:38, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

Ophelia
Mainly, we want to keep Ophelia marked as active until it is no longer threatening land or has lost enough strength that it isn't causing major issues. --FigfiresSend me a message! 03:54, 16 October 2017 (UTC)
- In the context of the 2017 Atlantic hurricane season, I can see the rationale for setting the end date as October 16 even though the system is still active, since it isn't tropical anymore. Master of Time (talk) 03:55, 16 October 2017 (UTC)
- It wouldn't make sense to do so now. Someone would probably then remove the weather warnings from the article. --FigfiresSend me a message! 03:57, 16 October 2017 (UTC)
- Putting a hidden note to leave the weather warnings there would work to some extent. With regards to the end date, its purpose is to show that Ophelia is no longer a tropical cyclone as of October 16, not that it has dissipated completely, though maybe we could add "(currently extratropical)" behind the end date to clarify. ~ KN2731 {t ⋅ c} 04:03, 16 October 2017 (UTC)
- You would also need a note to not remove the extratropical notice as well if you were to do that. --FigfiresSend me a message! 04:17, 16 October 2017 (UTC)
- I don't object to filling the section with notes if it helps to ensure that the information displayed is accurate. ~ KN2731 {t ⋅ c} 04:23, 16 October 2017 (UTC)
