On the subject of Combat Sickle.
editHi. I've noticed my draft for the article on Combat Sickle was rejected on the grounds it did not have reliable sources.
The article was originally created on Polish Wikipedia by user Tomuś Czereśniak, and he was providing the contents of the article I was translating. I asked him to provide the sources for his claims, and hopefully he'll get back to me.
Meanwhile I'll be hunting for my own sources, that should be sufficient for the article to be accepted, even if the original author of the article does not get back to me.
My intention is to travel to the Archeological Museum in Gdańsk, where the photo of the weapon was taken, and ask people working there for sources. Hopefully they will be able to provide me with something.
Sit tight, I intend to get it up to standards of the English Wiki, I just need some time. Fongsturion (talk) 12:31, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
- Fongsturion, thanks for leaving a note here. The draft was short and was not was not backed by any sources to establish notability, hence I declined the submission.
You are free to improve the draft and submit it again for the review. --Ratekreel (talk) 13:44, 29 September 2024 (UTC)

Last DYK prep set
editHi Ratekreel, I've noticed you promoting a couple of hooks recently; welcome to the team! Just one thing to note at the moment: per WP:DYKBOTTOMPREP we try to leave four slots empty in the last available prep set, including both the first and last slots. Otherwise, you're doing great. Best wishes, ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 22:21, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- Ah, right. I've come here to point out the same thing, but AirshipJungleman29 has beaten me to it. I might as well give you the backstory as to why that is.
- Sometimes, we have to shuffle hooks around between queue and prep sets. So that shuffling is possible, the last set needs to have a few empty slots, including the first slot (so that one can move lead hooks around), the last slot (for quirky hooks), and a couple of others (for other hooks). Sometimes, an admin just needs the code for empty slots, and again, you just help yourself from the last prep set. Sometimes, any of this has to be done in a real hurry, and that was the case for me today. There was a report at WP:ERRORS about a lead hook and I started dealing with it some 15 minutes before it was to move to the main page. Obviously, we want to avoid having errors on the main page, hence that hook needed to go (I simply deleted it from the queue), but then I needed the code for the lead hook for the prep where I copied the replacement from. You can only get the code when that last set has the relevant slot empty. Hence, I reverted your promotion as that was the quickest way for me to get this done.
- TL:DR, sorry for the revert, and I'm sure now that it's happened to you, you'll follow AirshipJungleman29's advice. Schwede66 08:38, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
- AirshipJungleman29 and Schwede66, I'm really sorry for negligence on my behalf. I was unaware of WP:ERRORS. I thought the nomination was good to go to prep stage. Anyway, thanks for your follow up and detailed explanation. I'll keep this is mind and will read the instructions again. --Ratekreel (talk) 08:57, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
