Hello KevinBrownJHU
editHello KevinBrownJHU,
My name is Anja. It's my second semester at JHU towards a M.S. in Biotechnology and I am glad to be here.I am looking forward to working with you. AjoneWiki (talk) 02:33, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
Hi Kevin
editIt looks like we will review a couple articles in unit 5. Do you have a special area of interest? AjoneWiki (talk) 12:37, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
- I really don't have any specific area of interest. I've done various stuff from Mass Spec to transformation to primer design, etc... So, anything that you can find should be fine. KevinBrownJHU (talk) 05:35, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
- Sounds great! I will look around and see what I kind find. Where did you get your undergraduate degree? I majored in microbiology at Iowa State University.Do you have a favored bug? AjoneWiki (talk) 14:15, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
- Not really a favored bug, but one I did spend a bit of time on from a bioinformatics point-of-view, Burkholderia Mallei. I spent several months analyzing that two chromosome bug for a primer design analysis to make sure that all the coding sequences would be amplified up in our lab. Found out all the interesting duplicates of genes that it had hidden all over its chromosomes and just how ugly the upstream and downstream sequences were for primers (lots of simple sequence repeats(SSRs)). KevinBrownJHU (talk) 20:21, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
- This sounds fascinating! AjoneWiki (talk) 02:18, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
- It was an interesting project. Also worked on a side project for over a year working on a new technique for peptide production for high-density microarrays. Was hoping to find funding for a large-scale storage array for holding onto the scans for these arrays, but hard to get that much money :( KevinBrownJHU (talk) 05:06, 4 October 2013 (UTC)

Unit 7 update
editKevin, I added preliminary key points to our group page. Feel free to edit. Take care. AjoneWiki (talk) 10:37, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
- Just letting you know that I started working in my sandbox on the article. Take care AjoneWiki (talk) 10:59, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
Unit 8 update
editHi Kevin, I just wanted to let you know that I am working on our article. I think it makes the most sense if we divide up the subsections and peer review each others work afterwards. I started working on Principle of DNA base pair complementarity, Stabilizing bonds and Complementarity in ds DNA. Not sure how far I get in this unit, but I would like to have a good head start. I like the pictures you found! AjoneWiki (talk) 12:06, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
Hello
editHi Kevin, I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed working with you this semester. I think our article turned out nice - especially since we stayed within the very limited scope. I know communication over Wikipedia has been a little rough, but I think we made the best out of it. Thank you, it was a pleasure working with you, Anja AjoneWiki (talk) 15:06, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
