Donna D. Shipton moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Donna D. Shipton, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Thank you

I began noticing your edits to space force articles about a week ago, and just want to say thank you. A lot of the Wikipedia articles for these units or commanders didn't exist until recently and it helps to have another editor focused on it. Garuda28 (talk) 20:29, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

I'm just glad to be doing it. I'm quite new to this and so I appreciate the corrections you've made to my errors, helps me learn in the process. If there's anything I could do to help, I'd be good to try. :D --AFLBulawan (talk) 20:42, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Hello AFLBulawan. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:AFLBulawan. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=AFLBulawan|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Sulfurboy (talk) 23:26, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of I Have Something to Tell You

Hello AFLBulawan,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged I Have Something to Tell You for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Commanders list

Hey, I noticed your work on the commanders list for the space wings, and they seem to have come out pretty well. Would you be willing to do that for their predecessor units as well (Western Test Range, etc.?) afhra.af.mil has them all easily listed, if you'd like to take this on. Garuda28 (talk) 22:33, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

Garuda28: Will get around to doing that. Their portraits are harder to get hold of though that's why I focused more on the current unit, but that's certainly something on my to-do list. --AFLBulawan (talk) 00:18, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

David D. Thompson

Did you even bother looking at the Meta data from the photo you uploaded? It's time and date stamped. Neovu79 (talk) 04:09, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

@Neovu79: Yes, it clearly does state it was taken on Oct 1. We can't however base when he took office from an official portrait when we have a public release stating he took office the next day: [1]. I get that his official biography[2] states that he was promoted to his current rank on Oct. 1 but that doesn't necessarily mean he assumed the VCSO position on the same date. He may have assumed the general rank on Thursday and assumed office Friday. But we have though is a source that states: "In a small ceremony at the Pentagon Friday, Lt. Gen. David D. “DT” Thompson assumed responsibilities as the vice chief of space operations for the U.S. Space Force." --KingEdinburgh (talk) 04:18, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
I found the article already, and yes, you are correct. October 2 would be the date he assumed office. Neovu79 (talk) 04:22, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hello, KingEdinburgh

Thank you for creating Allan Day.

User:TheTechnician27, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

The only two articles by reliable, independent sources I can find regarding this subject are this article in the local newspaper the Portage Daily Register and this plainly trivial mention in The Salt Lake Tribune. Even then, the PDR article is an interview, making it primary material. Unfortunately, this article's subject needs much more significant coverage from reliable, independent sources to be patrolled, let alone to meet WP:GNG or WP:BASIC. Perhaps I've missed something, but I believe this is a case of WP:TOOSOON. The article, however, is well-written and could be incubated as a draft in the hopes that yet-undiscovered existing sources can be found or that new reliable, independent material is created which can be used as a source.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|TheTechnician27}}. Please remember to sign your reply with ~~~~ .

New task at hand

Now that the lists have been completed, now it's time to complete the various officers that have red links. If possible, could you also create some of the unlinked ones in my major generals and rear admiral's lists? SuperWIKI (talk) 03:12, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

@SuperWIKI: That's the plan. Although seen as there are a lot, it would take a while. Right now I'm planning to do all 3-stars. And then eventually to 2-stars. Would be great if you could help out too. KingEdinburgh (talk) 03:18, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
I already am. I'll likely be far less frequent than you, but I'll try. SuperWIKI (talk) 03:23, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
@SuperWIKI: Off topic but regarding several USAF 1-stars appointed to 2-stars but don't have announced transfers. Some I think are unlikely to transfer to new positions, especially those who have recently assumed established 2-stars positions like Heather Pringle and Anthony Genatempo. Maybe they could be added to pending positions? KingEdinburgh (talk) 03:31, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
Was actually wondering about that. I do intend to add them (right now they're just hidden text), but not in a table format. It's too much work and unnecessary. I just want it in simple sentence form but still organized. You got anything in mind? SuperWIKI (talk) 03:54, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
@SuperWIKI: What about maybe separating the two tables for those with designated positions and those without? KingEdinburgh (talk) 04:11, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
Not cool with that solution, mostly because I'm also keeping in mind that these could be very short times, and that using a table might be too much work. I'll stick with the basic sentence format for now. SuperWIKI (talk) 04:48, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
P.S. I'm experimenting with a new table format and checking if lengths work first. For now what should I name the sections. SuperWIKI (talk) 04:55, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

@SuperWIKI: Yes, shouldn't you include the four-star general officers as well? Technically they were lieutenant generals too. KingEdinburgh (talk) 11:01, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
They were, but for simplicity's sake, I chose to add those who had their highest rank at lieutenant general rather than full general. Do you think four-stars should be added as well? SuperWIKI (talk) 11:40, 19 June 2021 (UTC)

Dagvin Anderson to Joint Staff

Where did you find the info that Dagvin Anderson is replacing Taliaferro as Vice Director for Operations? I need a citation for the List of active duty United States Air Force major generals page.

Autopatrolled granted

Hi KingEdinburgh, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! -- TNT (talk • she/her) 04:23, 26 December 2021 (UTC)

2023 Pacific Air Forces speculation

So many possibilities and now that we know Schneider almost certainly isn't getting USAFE-AFAFRICA,I wanted to speculate on the possibilities for PACAF. Wilsbach's 3 year term will be up August 2023. Lots of 3 stars with Pacific experience, hence why I wanted to speculate. No clear favorite. Possibilities:

1. Pleus. Wilsbach held the same position Pleus currently has before assuming commmand of PACAF. In addition to his current assignment, he has several other significant assignments in the PACAF AOR: -Director of Air and Cyberspace Operations, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces -Commander, 8th Fighter Wing, Kunsan AB, South Korea -Commander, 611th Air and Space Operations Center, JB Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska

2. Guillot. CENTCOM Deputy is the same position CQ Brown had before he was PACAF Chief. Also notable that he is an air battle manager. Trailblazing former PACAF (and NORAD/ NORTHCOM) commander Lori Robinson was also an air battle manager. He had the following PACAF HQ assignments from 2015-18: -Director of Strategic Plans, Requirements, and Programs, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces -Chief of Staff, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces

3. Schneider. No recent PACAF commanders have previously commanded US Forces Japan, but he has extensive PACAF and INDOPACOM experience besides US Forces Japan: -Chief of Staff, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces -Chief of Staff, Headquarters U.S. Indo-Pacific Command

4. Nahom. He is about to assume of command of Alaskan Command/ 11th Air Force, which is part of the PACAF AOR. He has other significant experience in the PACAF AOR: -Commander, 18th Operations Group, Kadena Air Base, Japan -Executive Officer to Commander Pacific Air Force -Commander, 3rd Wing, JB Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska

5. Krumm. Unclear if he is receiving further assignment after relinquishing command of Alaskan Command/ 11th Air Force (I think he will most likely get Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff or Operations (A-3) or SECDEF Senior Military Assistant. His other PACAF AOR assignment besides Alaskan Command/ 11th Air Force was: -Vice Commander, Fifth Air Force, and Director, Pacific Air Forces Joint Air Component Command Element, Yokota AB, Japan.

6. Kosinski. A mobility officer and not even a 3-star yet but his resume sounds like one that could be fast-tracked to 4-star. He is a Japanese speaker and his wife is Japanese: http://www.northwestmilitary.com/news/people-rule/2014/12/Col-Leonard-Kosinski-tapped-to-take-command-of-62nd-Airlift-Wing-at-McChord-Field/. He also holds a degree from the prestigious Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts.

7. Minihan. Highly unlikely he would move over from Air Mobility Command, but he obviously has extensive qualifications: Deputy Director for Air and Cyberspace Operations, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces, Hawaii -Deputy Director for Operations, U.S. Pacific Command, -Chief of Staff, United Nations Command and U.S. Forces Korea, USAG Yongsan, South Korea -Chief of Staff, U.S. Forces Korea and U.S. Member to the United Nations Command Military Armistice Commission, USAG Humphreys, South Korea -Chief of Staff, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii- Commander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command

My money's on either Pleus or Schneider, Minihan could be a potential VCSAF. SuperWIKI (talk) 03:26, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
Definitely wouldn't count out Guillot though. EPMen (talk) 17:41, 9 June 2022 (UTC)

Several 3-star retirements

https://www.af.mil/News/Article-Display/Article/3082679/senior-leader-announcement-week-of-july-5/

Looks like Berry, Krumm, Charles Moore, and Liquori are all retiring. Berry is the only one that didn't catch me a little by surprise. I thought Charles Moore would potentially succeed Kelly at ACC (as he has experience in both cyber and traditional warfare), but now the frontrunners are either Hinote or Nahom. @SuperWIKI

For my PACAF speculation, I still believe Pleus, Guillot, and Schneider are the frontrunners but I think Nahom has a shot. But I think he has a greater chance for ACC.

@KingEdinburgh With Liquori retiring, I wonder if that means Thompson may be waiting a little longer to retire. I supposed Saltzman could also become Director of Staff if/when Armagno moves up from that. EPMen (talk) 00:10, 6 July 2022 (UTC)

@EPMen Probably, both Raymond and Thompson may actually still retire in 2023. The Breaking Defense article was unsure about when Raymond would retire, so it wouldn't come as a surprise that both of them would serve a full term. KingEdinburgh (talk) 03:59, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
