Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Hope you like it here, and stick around.
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- To sign your posts (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
- Try the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the test area.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- Remember Wikipedia:Neutral point of view
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!
Regarding Neon Genesis Evangelion names
editBuh? Dude, no. "Gendo" is no more "correct" than "Gendou". We should use the names used in the English versions. "Correct" versions of the names are noted next to the Japanese anyway. WhisperToMe 06:38, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
"I'd like to point out that in the Japanese spelling of this character's first name, it's written with these characters: GE N DO U - with the last 'u' extending the o of 'do'."
That's wapuro. The Library of Congress system uses "Gendō". WhisperToMe 17:59, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
I have an idea on what to do. Maybe we can take a list of different romanizations in the different English versions and compare them side-by-side. Then we can figure out which one reflects the most common naming for Evangelion characters. WhisperToMe 18:06, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
I read VIZ' books. They all use small o's and u's. Did you watch ADV's stuff? WhisperToMe 04:30, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
Wikipedia
editHello! I read what you said in the discussion of Gendo Ikari, and I was wondering, if you knew how, how to change the title of one article to another. - Brittany
Regarding Hikaru Ichijo
editADV romanized the name as "Hikaru Ichijo" on its website, so I moved "Ichijyo" to "Ichijo". Who is the Macross fan that yelled at you? WhisperToMe 07:35, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

Come hang out with us!
editHi! I wanted to let you know that we have created an IRC channel for "countering systemic bias one new editor at a time", aka closing the gender gap! Come hang out at #wikimedia-gendergap. We hope this channel can serve as a safe haven to hang out, talk about Wiki, brainstorming, women in Wikimedia, article alerts and foster friendships. I hope you join us! (And if you need any IRC help, just let me know!) See you there! SarahStierch (talk) 15:02, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
