Behind My Camel

edit

Nice job on this, it's good for a beginner's article. One comment about your sources, the guideline we use is Wikipedia:Reliable sources. Wikipedia articles are not in themselves reliable sources, so shouldn't be cited in other articles. You probably don't need to list a citation for the Primus cover, since it's obviously verifiable by finding that EP and looking at the track selection. For the grammies, it would be better to find a mention of it elsewhere. Also, as references 2-4 go to the same place, you can use the name parameter in the ref tag to make it the same reference, but linked to three times. See Help:Ref#Citing_a_footnote_more_than_once. It would also be terrific if you could find any material on why Primus chose to cover it (perhaps in some interview or something). Rigadoun (talk) 19:38, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Did you know

edit
On 9 October, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Behind My Camel , which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Bass guitar fx

edit

Hi Leif, I've mainly toyed around with various distortion pedals and preamps. The Pro Co Rat (I think I have a Turbo Rat, but I'd have to check...they're all pretty similar anyway) works pretty fine, as does the Hughes&Kettner Metalmaster. Delay and Reverb pedals also work as well for bass as they do for guitar. Wahwah doesn't work at all, Phasers are tricky and mostly don't sound too great. I guess the best thing to do would be to go to the next music store with your bass and toy around with some of the pedals they have on sale - usually, music stores don't mind you testing out the equipment before buying. Ah, one more thing: depending on whether you use your bass with a band or for home recording, you might have a look at the Behringer Bass V-amp Pro - it's pretty good value for the money and it contains about twenty effects that work for both guitar and bass -- Ferkelparade π 11:30, 15 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Belated thank you

I only now noticed your friendly gesture. You're very welcome, and thank you, much appreciated! Having seen where you are from, I'd like to add that I am in awe of the feeling for rhythm held by some of your country's musicians. Polyrhythm always felt natural to me, but certain talas are just wild and crazy! Happy editing :-) ---Sluzzelin talk 14:16, 22 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I noticed you recently updated yourself from advanced bass guitarist to professional. It's always nice to see somebody moving forward in his art. How have we happened to cross paths? Via the Louis Johnson article. IRA in nyc NinetyNineFennelSeeds (talk) 13:42, 8 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

deOrphaning script

edit

Hello everyone! I was just working on responding to a couple bug reports for a script that I worked up as part of a request from this project, and I noticed that only a couple people (who weren't even on this mailing list) are actually using the script. A little history on the script: In March of 2014, Jim Cartar came to my user talk page and said he needed some help in acquiring a script for a backlog drive that he was working on that could keep track of and score deOrphanings for a scored backlog drive. I took that request to the project's talk page (BackLog Drive "DO" (De-Orphaning) script proposal) and there was near unanimous support for this. I thought about the proposal and decided the best way to do it was to build a new script (which is still no where near as comprehensive as Manishearth's OrphanTabs) and build into it a mechanism that will make BLD scoring easy.

What I'm wondering at this point is, since there appears to be only two people using the script, should I continue to develop this script with a goal of using it for scoring BLDs or just debug the existing script and leave it at that. Thanks for any replies or comments.
