Team, I think you have some good information here. However, I have two main concerns. One is the overwhelming amount of plot summary. I fear that your page will be tagged as one with too much plot, as right now the page is out of balance. Is there any way either to shorten the plot summary or lengthen the critiques or themes sections? My second concern is that you don't have very many citations. It is my understanding that almost every line of a Wikipedia article should be cited; otherwise, you run the risk of having content deleted or having the article tagged as needing verification. Good job on this article! I have a number of things you should probably address:

  • The article is missing a lead section. I would suggest reading Wikipedia:WikiProject Theatre/Article Structure or WP:MOSLEAD for some advice on how to approach writing one.
  • The article is also missing a history section. This too is discussed in Wikipedia:WikiProject Theatre/Article Structure.
  • Good section headings for the plots, although you may not need the "Action of the play" heading. I'd remove that and just make the Act 1 and 2 level two headers instead of just bolded text. (Ex.: Write ===Act 1=== instead of '''Act 1''')
  • The plot section is long. Try to cut this down, as it is a bit longer than is necessary. You may find Wikipedia:How to write a plot summary to have good advice regarding what to include and what to cut out.
  • Your character list is also quite long. I'd suggest eliminating the section and instead working the character descriptions into the plot summary.
  • Check your section headings. Section headings should have sentence style capitalization, and remove the ampersands. For example, "Themes & Motifs" should be "Themes and motifs".
  • I would retitle "Reviews & Critiques" to "Critical reception", as that is a commonly-used section name in Wikipedia articles.
  • The "Film versions" section is too short to be its own section. I would work it into the history section.
  • There is no need for an "About the author" section. Beth Henley has her own article; if a reader wants to know more about her, he or she can read that page instead. If any of the info about Henley is directly related to the play, use it in a history section instead.
  • Occasionally, you've used bold text to act sort of like subsection headers. Use level two headers instead.
  • The article would benefit from a few more wikilinks.

The article looks pretty good, though! Your citations are well-done and thorough. I would suggest moving to the mainspace soon. GorillaWarfare (talk) 18:08, 15 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
