Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, MattBrandyberry. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article From Ashes to New, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Walter Görlitz (talk) 03:09, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

- So in that revert, I mention using reliable sources. I'll give you an example of that. You changed the section that starts, "The band's influences include". There are four references there:
- http://www.musictimes.com/articles/34933/20150408/ashes-news-chris-musser-downfall-ep-rock-range-tour-interview.htm
- http://www.knac.com/article.asp?ArticleID=16096
- http://ztpmag.com/from-ashes-to-new/
- http://www.nationalrockreview.com/interviews/from-ashes-to-new-vocalist-matt-brandyberry (which no longer works, but we may be able to find out what it contained)
- I have not verified what is said there, but I suspect that all of the referenced bands are listed in those four interviews. So changing that referenced content goes against those sources. If you have new sources to support the bands you added, feel free to add them. It's not that we doubt your word on who your influences are, but we do need proof, not just your word.
