editThank you for your kind words. One of the subjects that I have always found interesting is the immigation of hundreds of non-Spanish families to Puerto Rico in the mid-1800s. Families from France, Germany, Corsica (where my mother's family came from) and Ireland settled in the island and their contributions and influence are seldom mentioned. That is why I wrote an immigration series which included the Irish (My garnd-children have Irish heritage in their veins). You may read my Irish immigration to Puerto Rico article, if you wish.
I also wrote the article about Tere Rios' son, Captain Humbert Roque Versace and played a role in having him recognized by the Government of Puerto Rico as one of their own and his name inscribed in San Juan's "Rememberance Monument".
