Hey, @Mee2022. If you want to create and upload a photo, that's great. The key thing is to upload it to Wikimedia Commons before you upload it anywhere else. That way we know you didn't just download it from the internet. We do want article subjects to be represented by a photo they like, and I can totally see why Evangilidis would hate the photo that's currently on the page.

I've replaced the image. It may not get challenged at commons, but if it does, there's a process by which you can assert you took the photo. LMK if you have troubles. Valereee (talk) 18:15, 21 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you & thank you for cropping the photo appropriately. Are you able to provide me with the specific steps that I have to take to be declared a paid contributor. The link in the other thread was a bit confusing. Mee2022 (talk) 18:18, 21 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes, there's a lot to know. Basically: avoid directly editing any article you're being paid to contribute to. Instead make WP:edit requests.
There is a lot of help for new editors at WP:Teahouse, which is a place where new editors can ask questions. Be aware that because literally everyone here is a volunteer, paid editors are...well, eyed with some suspicion because you're being paid to do things we usually have to fix, and without pay, which means we're using our volunteer time to help you get paid for doing something we disapprove of. You'll have to be scrupulously willing to take advice and follow our policies, or you'll encounter hostility. For instance, TheDailyAuburn.com, which you were sourcing to, forwards to https://www.publishedreporter.com/ which has the motto "Truth and America First" and is clearly a right-wing crank site. If you try to suggest edits based on what's written on there about your boss, you're going to end up with no one listening to you. Valereee (talk) 18:28, 21 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
I certainly understand that. These sources were added by someone long ago and by someone not with the Sheriff's Office. My goal is to wipe the entire site and just include the biography, which includes factual statements regarding his education, work experience, etc. I'm happy to remove any statements that violate community policies. What you'll want to do is go looking for WP:Reliable Sources that discuss him. Noncontroversial facts like education, work experience, etc. can be cited to his official bio. Everything else needs to be cited to a reliable source. Anything opinion based needs to be attributed, preferably in quotes. Valereee (talk) 18:55, 21 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
