Speedy deletion nomination of Merle Lang
editYou may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
A tag has been placed on Merle Lang requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hqb (talk) 13:54, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

editAlbertsons Script photo in the New Albertsons article
editHi Merle, I was just looking at the New Albertsons article and I see you recently changed an image there with the new caption "Albertsons script logo seen on many Albertsons products". However, the new image shows a building called the Albertson Public Library, part of the Orange County Public Library system, apparently. Looks like it might not be the image you had in mind; just thought I'd let you know. Cheers, Northumbrian (talk) 18:17, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
- I've gone ahead and changed it back to the earlier picture of the storefront until the script image is located. Northumbrian (talk) 13:14, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Step by step learning centers
editA tag has been placed on Step by step learning centers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb (talk) 22:29, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

editCreator Stephen Hillenburg initially conceived SpongeBob SquarePants in 1984
|
---|
Creator Stephen Hillenburg initially conceived SpongeBob SquarePants in 1984, while he was teaching and studying marine biology at what is now the Orange County Ocean Institute.[1] During this period, Hillenburg became fascinated with animation, and wrote a comic book entitled The Intertidal Zone starring various anthropomorphic forms of sea life, many of which would evolve into SpongeBob SquarePants characters,[2] including "Bob the Sponge", who was the co-host of the comic and resembled an actual sea sponge as opposed to SpongeBob.[3] In 1987, Hillenburg left the institute to pursue his dream of becoming an animator,[2][3] and began to envision the possible concept of a project involving anthropomorphic sea life, drawing several rough sketches.[3] In 1992, Hillenburg began to attend the California Institute of the Arts to study animation, having been accepted into the institute by Jules Engel, who was impressed with Hillenburg's previous work.[2][4][5] |

Speedy delete of Milano (cookies)
editI have marked this page for speedy deletion for two reasons:
- It's a copyright violation of wikipedia's already existing article, Milano (cookie). You can't just copy and paste stuff from an existing article without attribution. Please see WP:COPYPASTE.
- It does not improve on the existing article mentioned above.
Please do not remove the speedy tags yourself. If you disagree with them please add the {{hangon}} tag below the speedy tags (these begin db-) and give your reasoning on the article's talk page. If there are no speedy tags on the article then the speedy has already been declined and there is no need to add the hangon tag. I've also removed your speedy tag from Milano (cookie) as it was not tagged correctly. It would appear that the relevant AfD resulted in keep and so G4 speedy is not appropiate. editYour RfA
editPlease take a look at this, and seriously consider withdrawing the RfA yourself. The English Wikipedia community has very high standards for admins, and unfortunately you don't meet them at the moment, meaning it is almost certainly going to be unsuccessful. Your RfA
editHi, I'm sorry to say I've closed your RfA as unsuccessful per the essay WP:NOTNOW. As Peter says above, the community here sets extremely high standards for admins- successful candidates usually have at least 9-12 months' experience and many thousands of edits here and unfortunately you don;t meet those standards at the minute, but please do stick around and get more involved in the community, write some decent content and just enjoy your editing. Let me know if you need a hand. Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:47, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
- Can you please link to your user page or user talk page in your signature? Per WP:SIG and making it easy for others to get to your page. Thanks, —fetch·comms 22:54, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Wawa Coffee logo (2002-2005).gif)
editThanks for uploading File:Wawa Coffee logo (2002-2005).gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Non-free rationale for File:Kraft Mayonaise.jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to File:Kraft Mayonaise.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
