Hello. At the above article, I reverted your edit which is problematical. Your references are unclear and unable to be checked. Secondly, you have left comments "Not correct...." in the text of the article. Such comments, which call for discussion, are better placed on the Talk:Lundy murders talk page. Please enter your comments for discussion there. I feel you have valid points and you may have a deeper insight into the case than the rest of us. I look forward to seeing your concerns. Hello again. I see that you have left a post on the article's talk page that says Weggery found an open door, rather than breaking in, and you cite as reference "Police document 90005.doc". I'm sorry, but that is not a satisfactory way of citing a reference because you haven't made it clear where that document can be found. I searched for it at the NZ Police site, but got no hits. Are you able to copy and paste the full link for that document? I see that you have made very few edits and may be inexperienced, and I'm trying to help because you seem to have raised valid issues about the accuracy of details in the article. - Reply: 90005.doc is a police disclosure document being the formal statement made by Glenn Weggery on 30/8/2000 and disclosed to the FACTUAL Committee along with several hundred other such statements, most of which never made it into Court. I have read them all, and I believe I know far more about this case than any of your readers, but I am not bold enough to make the full contents of those documents available for general readership. Therefore, it makes it difficult to correct the errors in the article without revealing the full contents of the appropriate documents. Mervmatthews (talk) 22:12, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
- I understand, but unfortunately Wikipedia insists on references from reliable sources that can be checked by any reader. If Weggery's statement is not publicly available so that we can link to it, I'm afraid there's nothing we can do. I would like to caution you at this point as it seems you may be privy to information that is not in the public domain. Anything that you might reveal might be a violation of Wikipedia's WP:BLP policy concerning Weggery, and also possibly a violation of any non-disclosure agreement that you might have signed.
- I have looked for reliable sources saying that Lundy did not phone Weggery and ask him to check on Mrs Lundy and her daughter. Also looked for sources that say Weggery did not break in but walked through an open door. I have found neither. You're welcome to keep looking and make edits. - There is no non-disclosure agreement in place affecting the documents I hold. Nevertheless, I accept that I have to be careful about revealing evidence which is not already in the public domain. However, Mark did ring a person at 11:40am, not Weggery, and that person's husband offered to go around to check on Christine, only to discover police and ambulance already in attendance. The husband immediately contacted Mark and told him to get home right away.
- The open conservatory door has been mentioned a number of times, and will be in the Court records.
- Incidentally, the only evidence which placed Lundy at the murder scene was the disputed RNA evidence which is described as "bullshit" in this morning's Dompost pp18,19. Mervmatthews (talk) 22:59, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
- Re item about the open door - a simple Google search would have found it: https://www.newshub.co.nz/nznews/christine-lundys-brother-recalls-grim-discovery-2015021011. Mervmatthews (talk) 07:52, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
- In this edit, I have removed the unreferenced details about Lundy calling Weggery and asking him to investigate, and replaced them with Weggery's retrial testimony about the circumstances of his entry to the house, using the ref you supplied above. Akld guy (talk) 18:28, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
