Discretionary sanctions alert
Please carefully read this information:
The Arbitration Committee has authorised discretionary sanctions to be used for pages regarding all edits about, and all pages related to post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people, a topic which you have edited. The Committee's decision is here.
Discretionary sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimize disruption to controversial topics. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to the topic that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behavior, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. This message is to notify you that sanctions are authorised for the topic you are editing. Before continuing to edit this topic, please familiarise yourself with the discretionary sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.Hi. I've moved your article to draft status because it doesn't contain any references. Deb (talk) 14:24, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
Hi, Deb (talk) I have just added a reference. Feel free to add more references. There may not be that many since it was a small venue and Michael was trying to keep a low profile. I spoke to Michael after his Wembley concert in 1988 when he mentioned to me about this 'secret' performance. Amazing to think it was largely unknown for so many years. Mike Hocks Hucker (talk) 14:35, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- You'll need to do more with it before you move it back to article space. I'd recommend you request comments from more experienced contributors. Deb (talk) 14:37, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
Please try to find more references. I feel it is important that we know about this rare event. It was such an honour to talk to Michael. Mike Hocks Hucker (talk) 14:40, 14 March 2018 (UTC)

Where can I find more references for the Thriller One Night Only article? Thanks Mike Hocks Hucker (talk) 14:51, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- You can probably get some help from the reference desk, provided you make some effort to do it on your own. -- I dream of horses If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message (talk to me) (My edits) @ 16:21, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
DS Violation
You just violated the page editing restriction at Racial views of Donald Trump. There is a prominent edit notice that says:
- You must not make more than one revert per 24 hours to this article, must not reinstate any challenged (via reversion) edits without obtaining consensus on the talk page of this article, and are subject to discretionary sanctions while editing this page.
If you promptly self-revert, you will probably be able to avoid being sanctioned.- MrX 🖋 15:12, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
Ok, will do. I misinterpreted the policy. I thought it just meant 1 revert. I will undo it. Mike Hocks Hucker (talk) 15:17, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
I was not made aware of the sanctions before though Mike Hocks Hucker (talk) 15:20, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- Actually, you were. Look further up this page to the section "Discretionary sanctions alert". -- Scjessey (talk) 14:19, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
The article Thriller One Night Only has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
I can't find any discussion of this concert in reliable sources.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ... discospinster talk 17:09, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
Username
Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Mike Hocks Hucker", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because The name appears to be a variant of cocksucker.. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. -- Scjessey (talk) 21:02, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- This is my real name, miraculously I largely avoided bullying over the name. Mike Hocks Hucker (talk) 10:30, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
- If that's the case, you have my apologies. With that said, if you want to avoid further confusion I would strongly suggest you request a request a name change to the available "Mike Hucker" or something else. I'll leave it up to you. -- Scjessey (talk) 14:02, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
"This is my real name"
Sure, and my name's Mike Hunt.- MrX 🖋 14:19, 16 March 2018 (UTC)- That's Dr. Mike Hunt, for future reference. ―Mandruss ☎ 18:51, 18 March 2018 (UTC)
- Mr. Hucker: With the near-infinite pool of available usernames, why would one choose one that they know pronounces like "my cocksucker"? And then, once it has raised the eyebrows of at least two experienced editors after only a few edits, insist on keeping it simply because they can? I'm just curious as to your reasoning here. Sincerely, Queen Elizabeth II. ―Mandruss ☎ 18:34, 18 March 2018 (UTC)
- It is just an amusing name, surprised no one beat me to it. Just a bit of a pun. Is this username problematic on Wikipedia? Mike Hocks Hucker (talk) 10:47, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- So what you said above about it being your "real name" was a blatant lie? In that case, you are violating WP:ATTACKNAME. Please request a name change at WP:RENAME or I will file a report at WP:UAA that will likely result in your being blocked from Wikipedia. -- Scjessey (talk) 12:39, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- This username does not contain or imply a personal attack, sorry for the statement before. Please do not report me to the UAA, I strongly believe this username complies with Wikipedia policy. If you disagree, can we discuss further on this talk page? Thanks Mike Hocks Hucker (talk) 12:43, 19 March 2018 (UTC) My real name is Michael Hucker, I use the extra bit as a laugh. Mike Hocks Hucker (talk) 12:55, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- From WP:ATTACKNAME:
The following types of usernames are not permitted because they are disruptive or offensive:
- Usernames that are likely to offend other contributors, making harmonious editing difficult or impossible; e.g., by containing profanities or referencing controversies.
- Your name is intended to be a profanity, and the fact that we are having this conversation is evidence it is disrupting Wikipedia. Twice I have asked you nicely to request a name change, despite the fact you lied to me by claiming it is your real name. I am asking one more time for you to visit WP:RENAME and get it changed. I have already told you "Mike Hucker" is available, as is "Michael Hucker", so there is no excuse. I will not ask you again. -- Scjessey (talk) 12:59, 19 March 2018
- Hello. I would like to again apologise for the statement above. However, I do not see why such a name is a problem. It is just a play on words. The rule does not say you cannot reference a profanity. This discussion is just a little hiccup. The reason this has become an issue is due to this discussion being initiated. I do not see why as a whole this nickname is disruptive. It does not attack or insult anyone, it does not refer to a controversy and it is not an expletive it itself. Can we have more opinions before referring to the UAA? If there is a consensus that this username breaches policy, I will of course change it. I am not trying to be difficult, I just like the nickname and believe it is in accordance with Wikipedia's policy. Mike Hocks Hucker (talk) 14:03, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- I did my best. Reported. -- Scjessey (talk) 14:45, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- It says at the UAA to limit your reports to obvious violations of Wikipedia policy. If there is consensus that the name is not acceptable, I will change it to Michael Hucker. I asked for this to be discussed by other editors here to have more of a discussion. This was called a 'borderline' case by MrX (a very experienced contributor). Therefore, I believe you should not have reported me. Mike Hocks Hucker (talk) 15:05, 19 March 2018 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Gamaliel. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Barack Obama seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Gamaliel (talk) 11:23, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
Thriller One Night Only moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Thriller One Night Only, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 14:45, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
WP:ARBAPDS Editing restrictions
This is the second time I've seen you ignore the articles edit notice and restore reverted content without obtaining consensus. If you do this again, I will seek sanctions at WP:AE without any further warning.- MrX 🖋 15:14, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
