NALSAR
The following is what I want included: - Just like with the Harvard Law School Wikipedia page, I would like to see NALSAR's flagship programme mentioned in the lead, along with information like number of students, method of admission and so on. - I want it to be reflected in the lead that it is typically only less than the top 99th percentile scorers in CLAT are admitted to the university. The competence of the university is a very important detail readers would want to know about. - I would like a mention of the university's ranking in the lead. This seems pretty standard and obvious. - I would like to see a more fleshed out description of the BA.LL.B program. You keep edit warring by removing it for no reason. - I do not understand your obsession with mentioning that the university is residential right at the beginning. It is not important information. You are actively blocking efforts to improve the Wikipedia page of one of India's best law schools. This page looks pathetic compared to some of the best law schools in the world. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 183.83.207.111 (talk) 19:13, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
- Changes to an article should be discussed on the article's talk page, not on my private talk page, so I'll only answer the things that do belong here, and with your permission move the discussion about changes to the article to its appropriate place. In general, the suggestions you made are mostly good suggestions. If you have bothered to discuss things, rather than edit war, the article would have already looked much better. I also recommend opening an account, it is easier than to discuss things with an IP address that keeps changing. --Muhandes (talk) 19:21, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
OK, I have created an account. I had already posted in the talk section of the page. Keep in mind that you have deleted without any discussion or consensus -Helium1984 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Helium1984 (talk • contribs) 19:29, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia Helium1984. Everyone is allowed (actually expected) to make the changes they believe should be made. If someone objects by reverting, one is required to follow WP:BRD. As my changes were never reverted, there was nothing to discuss. --Muhandes (talk) 19:55, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
Engage on the NALSAR talk page
I have posted a copy of my message to you in the NALSAR talk page. Please participate there by explaining why each of the points I had mentioned - all of which I had added into the article - were removed by you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Helium1984 (talk • contribs) 19:38, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
- @Helium1984: Please sign your comments. I responded at Talk:Nalsar University of Law, these are all good ideas which I approve. By the way, titling the section "Muhandes" rather than "proposed changes" and calling me "Somebody by the name of 'Muhandes'" (do I call you "Somebody by the name of 'Helium1984'"?) might be considered offensive. I leave it to you to decide if you want these comments to remain. --Muhandes (talk) 20:03, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

sudhir k jain wikipedia page
Hi Muhandes
Can you help me?
I have created a page for Prof Sudhir K jain.
It is in my drafts. Now i don't know how to go about submitting it. Nowhere can i see any option for submitting the draft.
what should i do now? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vandana.iitgn (talk • contribs) 09:47, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Vandana.iitgn: From your talk page it seems like you found out how to submit your draft. If I'm wrong feel free to ask again. --Muhandes (talk) 20:23, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Muhandes: Hi. I am trying to create a Wikipedia age for Sudhir Jain, as mentioned earlier. He is an earthquake engineer of global repute. I haven't created any Wikipedia pages previously and thus might not be very aware of the rules. I need your help in making it a professional and authentic page before submitting it for review again. I tried submitting it once but it was probably very unprofessional one.
Could you please help? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Sudhir_K_Jain — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vandana.iitgn (talk • contribs) 07:26, 5 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Vandana.iitgn: Please sign your comments. It looks like its going in the right direction. Assuming the person is notable, which I didn't check, in my opinion the most important thing is to rewrite the lead in a neutral way and avoid puffery. Avoid statements that cannot be proven like "eminent", "passionate", "globally renowned" etc. See MOS:OPENPARA on how an opening paragraph should look like. State the notability early, clearly and in a dispassionate manner. The second thing would be to remove all facts which you don't have reliable sources for. An example would be the entire IIT Kanpur section. Again, rewrite it all in a factual, dispassionate manner and avoid terms like "Jain made distinguishing contributions", " "Jain has experimented with numerous ideas in curriculum" etc. unless you have a reliable secondary sources for them. Other things you should improve include the header level (use ==, not ===) and the "see also" section which does not follow WP:SEEALSO. There are also some external links, remove them all. Have fun. --Muhandes (talk) 09:18, 5 December 2017 (UTC)
Vandana.iitgn (talk) 09:39, 5 December 2017 (UTC) Thanks! This is great feedback! I will try to improve the article based on this feedback. Great help Muhandes :)
Removal of college listing from List of Educational Institutions of Lucknow
Hi
This is with reference to your message to me reproduced below..
Hello, I'm Muhandes. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to List of educational institutions in Lucknow have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Muhandes (talk) 19:55, 21 November 2017 (UTC)
Please let me know the specific reason for the removal.
Thank you Anant — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anant 69 (talk • contribs) 06:25, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Anant 69: it might not have been your intention, but you added an external links against policy. I restored your edit without the external links. --Muhandes (talk) 20:19, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Anant 69: and now you clarified that one of the institutes you added is not even in Lucknow and does not belong in the list. --Muhandes (talk) 19:53, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
Request at RM/TR declined
Hello there. Your request at WP:RM/TR to move KIIT University to Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology has been declined as ineligible, as a move discussion has taken place in the past, and is the reason why the article is at its current title. If you would still like the article moved, then feel free to start a request for move discussion on the article's talk page. See WP:RM for more details. Thank you. SkyWarrior 20:36, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
- @SkyWarrior: I didn't notice this old discussion, it was eight years ago. Circumstances have changed and the institute was forced to rename.[1] I will follow procedure and initiate discussion. --Muhandes (talk) 07:06, 7 December 2017 (UTC)

Enquiry
(Sumitsharaf (talk) 10:07, 6 December 2017 (UTC)) I want to redirect KIIT University to Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology because the university has changed its name to its original name Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology. But the problem is that Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology is redirect page for KIIT University, So can you help me to guide about how to deal with situation where the target page exist already or is redirect page of the source page.
- Since a direct move is impossible, you need to request a move. I did it already so no need to do it again. --Muhandes (talk) 18:12, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Sumitsharaf: The requested move was declined due to a discussion eight years ago which changed the name. I started discussion here so if you support the move, add your opinion in the usual manner. --Muhandes (talk) 07:17, 7 December 2017 (UTC)
NMIMS edit
Hey, the editing done by me for SVKM's NMIMS is done by taking info from its official website So, its fully relevant. So, I made the changes to make the university's Wikipedia page look better and more informative. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nirvana dreamer (talk • contribs) 19:22, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Nirvana dreamer: There were five major issues with your edits. First, you introduced copyright protected material, even though you were warned about this before. This is you last warning, we take copyright very seriously and this behaviour will not be tolerated. Second, you removed sources which are needed for verification. Third, you introduced material and did not cite any reliable source for it. Secondary and independent sources are preferred. Fourth, you introduced material which does not follow a neutral point of view and is largely promotional. This is no surprise since you copy pasted it from the website (see first issue, this also violated copyrights) which is promotional in its nature. Finally, you introduced a hefty number of manual of style violations for example using underlines, replacing a word with a number (eighth with 8th), inserting text before {{main}} and so on. What I suggest is to use the links I provided on your talk page and here to learn more about these subjects or your edits will keep being reverted, and you may be blocked from editing if you keep doing them. --Muhandes (talk) 20:07, 10 December 2017 (UTC)

Discussion
Sumitsharaf (talk) 07:34, 13 December 2017 (UTC) It is about Government Engineering College, Raipur and National Institute of Technology, Raipur. As NIT Raipur was formerly known as GEC Raipur after that Government of India converted it into NIT so as the fact NIT Raipur was sometime GEC Raipur, so in order to clarify i added not to be confused with NIT Raipur in GEC Raipur article.
- @Sumitsharaf: I see, if that is the case there is indeed justification to add a hatnote, and I will do it, but I looked in the article and there is no mention in the text that it was ever called Government Engineering College, Raipur. Can you provide a reliable source? By the way, signatures go at the end of the comment, see WP:TILDE. --Muhandes (talk) 18:32, 13 December 2017 (UTC)

But never want that page will get deleted. Please do something and prevent page from deletion. 02:03, 14 December 2017 (UTC) Sumitsharaf (talk) 02:03, 14 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Sumitsharaf: I can't help you if you don't provide the sources. If it is indeed a
very famous Higher secondary school for its academic records and facilities
I'm sure you can find reliable secondary independent sources to show it. I searched news announcements and found none which will be enough to satisfy WP:GNG, but maybe you can find other sources like a book written about it or some other reliable source. --Muhandes (talk) 08:43, 14 December 2017 (UTC) - By the way, in case this wasn't clear, sources don't have to be online and don't have to be in English. The requirement is only that they be reliable, secondary and independent of the subject matter. A book is a very good source. --Muhandes (talk) 09:01, 14 December 2017 (UTC)
Question
Hi, Thanks for welcoming me. I didn't understand why did you revert my edits on the Jamia Millia Islamia University page? Thanks again. Hmanburg (talk) 12:55, 14 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Hmanburg: Hi Hmanburg. WP:ALUMNI requires two things for adding a person to a list of alumni (or any other list). They need to be notable and their membership needs to be verifiable. Your edit did not supply either of this. Judging notability from just one source is usually impossible and contestable. We therefore usually write the article first as proof of notability. Then, any reliable source can be used for verifying membership in the list. I hope this helps. --Muhandes (talk) 13:50, 14 December 2017 (UTC)
Man You Just Removed Programmes List from EMEA College Of Arts and Science. You Said don't list programmes.Without Listing programmes people can't understand whether it is an Arts and science college or not. What should I do to show the programmes available in that college ? . Check this page also they have listed programmes, remove their list also https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sullamussalam_Science_College Rishad Pkn (talk) 20:36, 16 December 2017 (UTC)

do not attempt to list every major, degree, or program
. Readers can understand it's an arts and science college from the name: it is called "EMEA College of Arts and Science". Furthermore, the list of departments which I added also illustrates it. --Muhandes (talk) 18:07, 17 December 2017 (UTC) - Oh, and I removed the list from the other page as well. --Muhandes (talk) 18:36, 17 December 2017 (UTC)

Edit for IIT Ropar, December 17
Hi,
You had left me a message, which is reproduced below:
Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please don't add Indic scripts, per WP:INDICSCRIPT Muhandes (talk) 08:59, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
I had added the motto of the college in Sanskrit, as it originally is. Also a translation is provided in English. Although I am new to editing in Wikipedia, I believe that writing in Indic script in such cases should be allowed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shubhams123 (talk • contribs) 10:26, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Shubhams123: please sign your comments. As I said already in the comment I left you, per MOS:INDICSCRIPT, Indic scripts should not be added to the lead section or the infobox. --Muhandes (talk) 12:23, 21 December 2017 (UTC)

- @Rupendrafest: Please sign your comments. I appreciate that you have a source for every fact you added. I assume you mean well. However, adding data which cannot be verified is worse than having no data at all. The fact that the article already has such data is no excuse. Listing the sources at my talk page is not helpful, I assume you have those sources. You need to cite the source at the article, and if the fact is disputed or may be someday disputed, you need inline citation. See Help:Footnotes or Help:Introduction to referencing with VisualEditor if you use the VisualEditor. --Muhandes (talk) 13:17, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
Good evening sir, I am Parth Agarwal of batch 2011-2015 from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology. Recently I have made some additions regarding the college, which were reverted saying that the link was not there. It is to apprise that all the details have been picked from the college's website (www.mnnit.ac.in), which has already been mentioned as a source. Hence it is authentic and can be updated for the college on wiki as well.
Thus it would be great if the undo of the changes can be reverted.
Thanking you Yours sincerely Parth Agarwal MNNIT ALLAHABAD 2011-2015 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Parthsuite (talk • contribs) 10:59, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Parthsuite: Please sign your comments. As an alumnus of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology you obviously have a conflict of interests (COI) regarding this article. I left you some guidelines at your talk page which explain how to handle COIs. Specifically, avoid editing articles you have a COI with and instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles using the {{request edit}} template.
- Regarding the edit you made, I appreciate that the data you provided is authentic and I presume you mean well. However, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and as such, every fact needs a source for verification, and in most cases inline citation of reliable secondary independent sources. I reverted your edit because it did not supply any sources, reliable or not. Furthermore, it is crucial to maintain neutrality. Sentences like "The Institute has a very progressive policy towards..." are boosterish and promotional and cannot be accepted. --Muhandes (talk) 11:19, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Parthsuite: I just realized your edits were also in violation of copyright, please read the information at your talk page carefully. Copyright violations will not be tolerated. --Muhandes (talk) 11:58, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
Request
As our previous talk, regarding National Institute of Technology and Government Engineering College Raipur, i came to the conclusion that NIT Raipur was formerly known as Government Engineering College Raipur (as mentioned in http://www.nitrr.ac.in/aboutus.php) . So it may be confusing between Old Government Engineering College Raipur (now NIT Raipur) and New Government Engineering College Raipur. So, may i add not to be confused with 'article name' in both pages. --Sumitsharaf (talk) 08:28, 4 January 2018 (UTC)
- Partially done. What you are asking for is called a hatnote. Per policy
Mention other topics and articles only if there is a large possibility of a reader arriving at the article either by mistake or with another topic in mind.
I definitely see how this can happen with someone arrives at Government Engineering College Raipur (say from a biography) and actually having National Institute of Technology, Raipur in mind, since it was renamed and they may not be aware of that. I therefore added a hatnote on Government Engineering College Raipur. However, the opposite scenario seems impossible to me. Can you describe a scenario leading to someone arriving at National Institute of Technology, Raipur when they have Government Engineering College Raipur in mind? --Muhandes (talk) 08:59, 4 January 2018 (UTC)
Extermall links question
Hello Muhandes: Why External link is prohibited on wikipedia.I tried to improve Article. What is the criteria to add External link on wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arya.koli (talk • contribs) 04:51, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Arya.koli: I don't know the "why", other than saying this is the consensus. I assume that you tried to improve the article. As for the criteria, external links are allowed only in the "External links" section of an article (and in some infoboxes), and with strict limitations on that as well, see WP:EL. --Muhandes (talk) 12:14, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
Regret
I apologize for ignoring your notices and i am very very sorry because from last one week i was in out station, so that i was unable to reply to your useful notices. First of all i want to say you that in {{International Institute of Information Technology}} the only name of the institutions are same but in my opinion it is important to aware readers that there is more institutions like this institute. Means if someone is reading about International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore, so the reader must be aware of such more institutions exists in India. If i am wrong than either you delete that template or inform me to delete the same. okay Thank You.
I want to ask one question from you that How to reply to such notices? Sumitsharaf (talk) 15:28, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Sumitsharaf: Thanks for returning to me. I am taking a short vacation, I will respond next week when I'm back. --Muhandes (talk) 07:23, 18 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Sumitsharaf: Having a similar name is not a reason for creating a nav template. On the contrary, it is misleading. I suggest you remove it yourself, to save the time to go through WP:XFD. As for your question "How to reply to such notices?", you just answered me, so it seems you know how to respond... you can also leave a response on your own talk page and ping. --Muhandes (talk) 17:49, 21 January 2018 (UTC)

Question.
Thanks a lot. That clarified it a lot. The name I added has I think over 50 articles in coverage on reputed news sites.
I saw the said person in a half page interview in livemint and decided to add him.
I don't know if I can create an article since I have just started. I have read the notability criteria and I think that would be satisfied.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to respond! Hmanburg (talk) 16:20, 14 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Hmanburg: For academics we have a more specific guideline, though of course if the general notability guidelines are satisfied, it should be enough. You can try the article wizard, it should give you hints on how to start. I'd offer to help, but I'm not an expert on biographies, definitely not on scientists from India. I do however know an editor who is an expert on the subject, so let me know if you wish to try and I will ask him if he can help you. --Muhandes (talk) 17:32, 14 December 2017 (UTC)
Sorry, I may have phrased myself in an awkward and confusing manner. The said person is actually in business.
He is the CEO of amplus energy solutions.
You have an expertise on a very wide variety of topics. I can dig up all the references required for the page. Maybe you could help out?
Thanks a lot for your time! Hmanburg (talk) 04:01, 15 December 2017 (UTC)
- No worries, it wasn't your phrasing which was awkward, it was me who confused this with someone else. The number of of articles is of less importance than the depth of coverage. Why don't you take the first cut at this article and I will assist after you have the first draft? Use the article wizard, it will guide you through the process. Check out MOS:BIO and WP:BDD. Don't worry about making mistakes, you will write the article in your sandbox and we will move it to the main space only when it is ready. --Muhandes (talk) 07:22, 15 December 2017 (UTC)
I have taken the first cut on the article. It's here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Sanjeev_Aggarwal. Any feedback/suggestions? Hmanburg (talk) 14:26, 16 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Hmanburg: I improved the citation formatting a bit. As I said, I don't do much biographies, so I don't know if what you wrote is enough to establish notability. There does not seem to be much depth of coverage in the sources you provided, and they are only two sources, you implied there were many more. --Muhandes (talk) 16:29, 16 December 2017 (UTC)
Yes, there are many more. I just put together a very quick draft. I'll get to it. Thanks for helping out! Hmanburg (talk) 16:35, 16 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Hmanburg: well then, you are on the right path. The tone is neutral and the structure is sound. Add more sources about his early life and his career. Remember to a sentence at the lead with the most notable thing he did. --Muhandes (talk) 16:39, 16 December 2017 (UTC)
I was busy in school work, thats why it took me so long to take a proper first cut. Can you have a look at it and clean up the reference structure which I have been unable to figure out how to? Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hmanburg (talk • contribs) 19:30, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
- I'll try to have a look later this week, I'm a bit busy myself. --Muhandes (talk) 08:28, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Hmanburg: Just letting you know that I have not forgotten, just a busy spell and a short vacation. I will have a look next week when I'm back. --Muhandes (talk) 07:24, 18 January 2018 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for remembering and helping out! Happy vacationing! Hmanburg (talk) 14:10, 23 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Hmanburg: I did what I could. As I said originally, I don't do biographies often so I can't say if it will stand, but if you are happy with it, I will create if for you and we'll see. --Muhandes (talk) 14:32, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
Wow! That was an extremely detailed and thorough edit. Thanks a lot!
It would be great if you could create the article.
Just a couple of questions,
1) How did you estimate his age, since I couldn't find any reference for it?
2) Should we merge the awards and recognition section with the career section since there aren't too many awards?
3) From the very little I know, wouldn't calling him an expert in project finance violate Wikipedia's neutrality policy?
Thanks again! Hmanburg (talk) 16:29, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- To answer your questions, 1) the age is from the Mint article 2) I moved some things around a bit, feel free to move them more. 3) I think it is evident from the career section but perhaps you are right, I removed it, and hopefully the article will stand without it. Congratulations on your first article. --Muhandes (talk) 17:07, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
Thanks a million for guiding me through my first article! It's an amazing feeling! Also it feels great that my suggestion was actually useful and valid on the article. Thanks again! Can't tell you how excited I am. Love Hmanburg (talk) 18:00, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
- I can't guarantee it wont be deleted but it stands a fair chance. I'm sure with the obvious bias of Wikipedia you can find many more subjects to write about, and most importantly, have fun. --Muhandes (talk) 18:56, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

regarding Subinoy Roy
Hello Muhandes, am not in a position to say whether you have made any mistake or not. But without any alert or community gesture you have already deleted which i tried to develop for Subinoy Roy page, also deleted all reference of reliable source and you are asking for reliable source. Anyway plz send me reliable sources so that both we can make a piece of history together. Much regards to you. if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joyindia2017 (talk • contribs) 15:08, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Joyindia2017:: You added material to Subinoy Roy without reliable sources. Worse than that, you added false citations which do not even mention Subinoy Roy, thus misleading the reader to think these are reliably sources. I therefore reverted your edits. It is not for me to supply you with reliable sources, it is for you to add a reliable source for every fact you add. --Muhandes (talk) 15:16, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Muhandes:: you have decided and already deleted without any discussion. That is your personal perspective. You may do that if you like and now i can not prove or give a second thought even to anything regarding "false citations" and "Worse", because you have already deleted everything without any discussion within community. Sir am not saying you are wrong but i have humble point, may we put somebody as "false" or "worse" without giving him any chance to prove (everything already been deleted) or to develop for the sake of history and open knowledge-base in this planet. Much regards Sir. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joyindia2017 (talk • contribs) 15:35, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Joyindia2017: Please sign your messages. Also, there is no need to ping someone when you leave a message on their own talk page.
- As for your request, by all means, lets discuss. The proper place for discussion is the article's talk page. If you wish to develop the article without your edits being reverted as unsourced, use your sandbox, not the article. --Muhandes (talk) 15:41, 22 February 2018 (UTC)

why do you edit the college list of sambalpur.it is a valuable information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skagrawalla (talk • contribs) 16:55, 3 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Skagrawalla: Please start a new section for each disucssion and sign your messages. I removed it Because it lacked sources, it violated WP:EL and it added non-notable entities to the lists. I added some material on your own talk page about these three subjects. --Muhandes (talk) 18:12, 3 March 2018 (UTC)
Reply on Inclusion Criteria on wikipedia
Quantum University also offers Agriculture courses in Uttarakhand through its School [1]. You can check yourself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arya.koli (talk • contribs) 05:51, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

If you wish to change the inclusion criteria please discuss it there (please open a new discussion). --Muhandes (talk) 06:59, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

Hi, in answer to your question, the DYK nomination has been approved and is awaiting an editor to promote it to the queue. This could take a week or more. Put the nomination template on your watchlist and you'll see when it's promoted, then watch T:DYK/Q to see on which date it will appear on the main page. Best, Yoninah (talk) 01:25, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks Yoninah. I haven't been doing it for some 6 years and frankly even when I did, a DYK going back from the queue is probably something I didn't see. Hopefully it still gets a prime picture position because I think it is worth it. --Muhandes (talk) 07:01, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

Hey Muhandes. I made a new article called Proper Einstein (musician), and I was wondering if someone could review it for me. DYK for Bhagavad-gita Museum
On 24 March 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Bhagavad-gita Museum, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that at the Bhagavad-gita Museum in Los Angeles, dioramas (example pictured) featuring almost life-sized dolls convey the philosophy of Krishna consciousness? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Bhagavad-gita Museum. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Bhagavad-gita Museum), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management
Hi,
I was wondering the reason to revert the Courses/Programmes listed by me on the LBSIM Page. Please share on how I can make it better, if it is not meeting the standards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Manujain3710 (talk • contribs) 06:38, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Manujain3710: Per WP:UNIGUIDE, we don't list courses/programmes. These belong on the institute's website, which is linked in the "External links" section. It is usually OK to discuss the organizational structure of the institute and list the departments. Please sign your posts. --Muhandes (talk) 09:52, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
National Institute of Technology Karnataka
Hi, Regarding the edit on National Institute of Technology Karnataka, you can directly see on Vasudhendra that it is mentioned he is an Alumuni of the college. Why and what kind of citation is needed in this. It is just a backlink in Wiki Web. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thenectorgod (talk • contribs) 05:12, 1 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Thenectorgod: Obviously, I did go to Vasudhendra and there is no source there either. Per WP:ALUMNI and WP:NLIST you need a source that shows the person is an alumni. --Muhandes (talk) 09:03, 1 April 2018 (UTC)

- As for the source you linked above, it says nothing about R. Srinivasan, and even if it did, it cannot be used since an alumni organization it is not an independent source. --Muhandes (talk) 16:07, 1 April 2018 (UTC)

why are you saying that most of the informations mentioned in politics portion of the Medical College and Hospital,Kolkata wiki page is unsourced??have you any other sources to make differences with that informations?? Why and what kind of citation is needed in this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samujjwal Maiti71 (talk • contribs) 19:07, 1 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Samujjwal Maiti71: The burden of proof is not on me to show that the facts are wrong, it is on you, since you delete the maintenance template from Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata. Since you asked for it, I marked some unsourced facts. I think the one tag was preferable, but have it your way. --Muhandes (talk) 20:08, 1 April 2018 (UTC)

you have applied citation for AISF,the first organised union of students in India and BPSF ,the bengal branch of AISF...It is very much surprising...what is your problem with AISF/BPSF??It is an established history. It was only a platform of students for fighting against british imperialism during the days of freedom struggle.and for kind information,Dr. Purnendu Jha was one of the founder member of Medical college student union also.Dr. Naresh Banerjee ,the person who hoisted Indian National flag for the first time in Medical college in the year 1946.I am very much sorry to say you that every source is not available in internet.some sources are available in national library too.there are glorious history of sutdents movement under the banner of BPSF in medical colleges of west bengal.the history of Dhiraranjan Sen,and his death due to police lathi charge was published in many news paper on that time.I have also mentioned the sources.there are many books written in bengali and bengal legislative assembly debate on this matter also available.and my last question, can you tell me the exact number of students died/killed during freedom struggle in kolkata/India??? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samujjwal Maiti71 (talk • contribs) 12:06, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Samujjwal Maiti71: I believe you. You are an ex-student of Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata and you probably know your politics. Nevertheless, since this is an encyclopedia we are writing, and not a trivia website, the facts need a source for citation. Since you said
there are many books written
I'm sure you can provide one of them as citation. Leave a note on the talk page and I'm sure another editor will be happy to add the source. Please state exactly what fact you are verifying and supply a page number. As for the number of students, clearly the exact number is not required, but "many" is not very encyclopedic. A dozen? a hundred? a thousand? Lets work together and make this section better. --Muhandes (talk) 12:15, 2 April 2018 (UTC)- @Samujjwal Maiti71: I see you added some sources but they need improvement. Hi Muhandes, I wanted to add another link instead of that in the Information box, but I wasn't able to do so on the page of Ahmedabad University. Can you add this link https://ahduni.edu.in/sanjay-lalbhai instead of that link? — Preceding unsigned comment added by JP2300 (talk • contribs) 04:01, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
- @JP2300: I'm afraid there is some misunderstanding. That small number in square brackets beside the name is not a link, it is an inline citation. Its only purpose is to verify that Sanjay Lalbhai is the Chancellor of Ahmedabad University. As such, the existing citation[1] is sufficient and there is no reason to add another, unless the new citation is in some way superior. In this case citing the "Leadership" page is superior as it proves the exact point needed. --Muhandes (talk) 07:21, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

- Done --Muhandes (talk) 13:18, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
I had made some changes in name of institution but seems you have reverted them. Changes made to name of Institution were based on notification issued by UGC. You can check the notification issued by UGC for Institutions Deemed to be Universities. Name of institution was renamed to Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University) as per guidelines issued. I hope it make things clear. Nishantkango (talk) 08:19, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Nishantkango: I am well aware of the UGC notice, which orders the institute to change its official title, and it is a common mistake to think that this requires us to change the title of the article. However, per WP:COMMONNAME, the name of the article is not the official title anyway, it is the common name, which I believe is still "Maharishi Markandeshwar University" and not the clumsy "Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University)". I believe it will never be "Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University)", most likely it will be "Maharishi Markandeshwar", as odd as this may sound (Karunya for example seems to be going this way). If you wish to change the title, you will have to show that multiple independent reliable sources call it "Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University)". I hope this clarifies the policy. --Muhandes (talk) 16:20, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
Upcoming changes to wikitext parsing
Hello,
There will be some changes to the way wikitext is parsed during the next few weeks. It will affect all namespaces. You can see a list of pages that may display incorrectly at Special:LintErrors. Since most of the easy problems have already been solved at the English Wikipedia, I am specifically contacting tech-savvy editors such as yourself with this one-time message, in the hope that you will be able to investigate the remaining high-priority pages during the next month.
There are approximately 10,000 articles (and many more non-article pages) with high-priority errors. The most important ones are the articles with misnested tags and table problems. Some of these involve templates, such as infoboxes, or the way the template is used in the article. In some cases, the "error" is a minor, unimportant difference in the visual appearance. In other cases, the results are undesirable. You can see a before-and-after comparison of any article by adding ?action=parsermigration-edit to the end of a link, like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Foss?action=parsermigration-edit (which shows a difference in how {{infobox ship}} is parsed).
If you are interested in helping with this project, please see Wikipedia:Linter. There are also some basic instructions (and links to even more information) at https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-ambassadors/2018-April/001836.html You can also leave a note at WT:Linter if you have questions.
Thank you for all the good things you do for the English Wikipedia. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 21:18, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
