Edit summaries (Yet again)

YOu continue to ignore messages asking you to provide edit summaries for your edits. It always seems really silly to have to block an editor from editing over such a trivial matter, but experience over the years suggests that for an editor who has not taken notice after being asked to use accurate edit summaries several times, nothing short of a block from editing is likely to work, so unfortunately a block becomes necessary. Please don't make a block necessary: just start spending a second or so to write a brief but informative edit summary each time you edit. JBW (talk) 20:12, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

I just started using edit summaries; I turned on the reminder feature in my preferences. I haven't seen any instances of users getting blocked for not putting in edit summaries; I just don't know where you got that idea from. I think you should talk to my good friend @Sammi Brie and hear what she has to say. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 20:21, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
Honestly, I'd also encourage you to use more descriptive summaries. "Minor edit" ad nauseam is not very helpful, especially for not actual minor edits. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 20:24, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
Sometimes these edits are minor, like putting in punctuation or correcting misspellings. Back on topic, why would someone threaten to block a long-time user like me over edit summaries? It's not like they're offensive or anything. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 20:29, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
Agree with Sammi Brie, these [1][2][3][4][5][6] are not minor edits. Horse Eye's Back (talk) 20:31, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
I didn't "threaten" to block you. On the contrary, I attempted to warn you so that you could avoid being blocked. As for where I got the idea of editors being blocked for persistent failure to provide edit summaries, I got the idea from the fact that very occasionally it happens. It is very rare, because most editors do start providing edit summaries if they are asked to. JBW (talk) 08:06, 2 June 2023 (UTC)

Hello!

My name is Megan Stoll and I'm the Art Director at KOMU 8. I noticed that you have made several edits to our wikipedia page and I was wondering if you'd like to help me upload the history of our station's logos. Please let me know - I'm new to the wiki community and only just joined today to update our logo since it recently changed. Thanks! Muddybuddy9 (talk) 20:43, 5 June 2023 (UTC)

  • @Muddybuddy9: Hi Megan! Welcome to Wikipedia. Another topic editor here. We don't tend to have former logo histories like we used to because we can't keep non-free former logos per our non-free content guidelines, so this probably isn't the best place to start. You probably should declare your conflict of interest on your userpage, too. If there's stuff you want to improve the article, let me know—newspaper availability on my end for Mid-Missouri is not great at all, but I can help with other things. Sounds good Sammi! Thank you so much for your help. Mostly, I just wanted to update our logo to the newest version since I'm in the process of updating it everywhere else. Have a good day! Muddybuddy9 (talk) 13:50, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
