Wijnaldum - done. Please see WP:BLP, WP:V and WP:BURDEN as to why I remove them. GiantSnowman 11:07, 21 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
To quote from WP:BLP:
"Contentious material about living persons (or, in some cases, recently deceased) that is unsourced or poorly sourced – whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable – should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion."
To also quote from Jimbo:
"I can NOT emphasize this enough. There seems to be a terrible bias among some editors that some sort of random speculative 'I heard it somewhere' pseudo information is to be tagged with a 'needs a cite' tag. Wrong. It should be removed, aggressively, unless it can be sourced. This is true of all information, but it is particularly true of negative information about living persons."
Removing any and all unreferenced content about BLPs - whether that is positive or negative - should be our prerogative, and that is what I am doing, nothing more and nothing less. GiantSnowman 11:17, 21 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Statistics tables in footballer articles

edit

I think we need to discuss with GiantSnowman whether the deleting of unreferenced statistics tables really encourages people to actually find references to statistics as opposed to leaving citation tags. I think the best thing to do is for all of us to discuss the matter (start a conversation) at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Players. Zastavafan76 (talk) 16:12, 27 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 11:15, 21 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
