Grand'mere Eugene had pointed out that I may have a conflict of interest with the Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe article I was editing. I have since added a conflict of interest notice on the article I was editing, as well as my own profile page, but is this enough? Do I need to undo all of the edits I have done up to now and re-do them again, making it clear I have connections with the institute? Help would be most appreciated, thank you.
- You don't need to undo your edits, but there are a couple of things that you do still need to address to comply with Wikipedia's policies and terms of use. Firstly the userbox announcing your conflict of interest above should be on your user page (there's a tab to create it at the top of this page) rather than here. Secondly, if you are an employed by Kavil IPMU, you need to use the
{{paid}}
template instead of/in addition to the COI one. Finally, your current username is a violation of the username policy (specifically this bit), so you need to change it to represent you and only you - you can do this by following the process explained here. Yunshui 雲水 09:35, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
Good news, bad news
editIPMUPress, the good news is both that the IPMU article is still only a stub, so still short and easier to review, and also that I have reviewed your contributions and I believe them to be appropriate and not promotional. It should not be necessary to start over.
But there may be bad news for you in terms of your user name. See Promotional names, and follow directions here to either rename your account or register for a new account. (You will still need to declare your COI on your new User page, and if you are paid to edit wikipedia, that also needs to be declared.) Cheers! — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 06:11, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
