Hi there - if you look at the talk page of Whale, you'll see a notice telling you that it's written in British English. Wikipedia doesn't have a preferred variant - rather, we aim to ensure that our articles are internally consistent, and we don't change the spelling style from one to another without a good reason and talk page consensus. This is discussed at WP:ENGVAR. Hope that helps, cheers GirthSummit (blether) 17:40, 3 October 2020 (UTC)

editHello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Whale. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you. - Hi - just a bit more on this, since I'm seldom entirely comfortable with reverting someone twice on the same page without proper discussion. Consistency is important - the article is entirely written in BrEng, with spellings like 'metres', 'colour' and so on used throughout; indeed, the word 'grey' is used fifteen times in the article, spelled with an e every time. Changing just one of them to 'gray' introduces an undesirable inconsistency. As to whether BrEng or AmEng should be used, your edit summary indicated that you didn't see British spellings in the earliest version of the article, which is true - however, from the links on the talk page, you will see that the article underwent peer review in August 2015, was reviewed as a Good Article in September of that year, and then went through WP:FAC later in that month (although it was not promoted). Through all these stages, it was using BrEng spellings consistently. I would suggest that going through these multiple stages of review would constitute the type of established consistency discussed at MOS:RETAIN, which instructs us to protect that consistency in the absence of a consensus to change - hence my reverts. I hope that explains the situation. Best GirthSummit (blether) 12:17, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions! Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to List of World Heritage Sites in Mexico, goes against WP:LISTEN, a Wikipedia guideline. You may find it helpful to look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please don't remove referenced content. --Abbeequiy (talk) 07:08, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Blue whales don't breed in lagoons off Baja period. Anyone who knows anything about whales knows that. Also, gray whales mainly breed off the west coast of Baja, not in the Sea of Cortez (where few have even been seen). If you don't know anything about whales why are you editing articles about them?? PB&J87 (talk) 15:27, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Haha I did a quick search on google and google scholar for you. I can't even find a source (peer-reviewed or otherwise) that even states blue whales are even seen in any lagoon off Baja let alone breed there. It's just gray whale reference after gray whale reference. How is citing a line of text that could've been written by anyone considered reliable? Do you just assume it's correct out of ignorance?? - Please don't fill with "citation needed"s articles just for it, in this case in the Bahía de Todos Santos. If a possibly data is without referece that should stay as so. You're from Indonesia no?, simple question. --Abbeequiy (talk) 17:46, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- No. Why the hell would I be from Indonesia of all places? And answer my question. If you know absolutely nothing about whales, why the hell do you edit articles about them??????? PB&J87 (talk) 18:25, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- That mythomania is creepy... --Abbeequiy (talk) 19:46, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- What lying? And I see you reverted my edits on Omura's whale. Even though you know nothing about them. (Redacted) PB&J87 (talk) 20:20, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
