The World Cup
editI have tried to search for the World Cup on Wikipedia, I found it under football World Cup, surely the football is unnecessary. This article will get more and more hits as kick off approaches. Now that we have all the countries the sheer global sense of the competition becomes more clear.
I often think that the sense of the world as a single community is most visible during the world cup final when the entire globe settles down before its (metaphorical) fireplace, and (real) television sets to watch a single sporting event. - Pat McDonald 19:41, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
Thank You
editIt had not even crossed my mind to check for spelling variants. Thank you, though, for seeing to the page. Saints fascinate me, as their lives mostly aren't that different from the ordinary. Happy Holidays! Trjumpet 03:31, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

edit==Image Tagging [[:Image:10070005 going under bridge.jpg ]]==
This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading [[:Image:10070005 going under bridge.jpg ]]. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --.**My Cat inn @ (talk)** 01:47, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
Untagged image
editAn image you uploaded, Image:HMS Diana Crest.jpg, was tagged with the {{coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{seal}}. If you have any questions, ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- 14:05, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
Possibly unfree File:Kirkby, Geoffrey John, Captain, Royal Navy, CBE, DSC **.jpg
editA file that you uploaded or altered, File:Kirkby, Geoffrey John, Captain, Royal Navy, CBE, DSC **.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. Orphaned non-free image File:HMS Diana Kiel Kanal 1960.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:HMS Diana Kiel Kanal 1960.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:29, 4 January 2019 (UTC)
The file File:HMS Repulse.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Orphaned image with no evidence of use. Not clear what adjustments uploader made to image or if it is a derivative of a copyrighted image. With the watermark, it is extremely unlikely that anyone would use it in the future.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ★ Bigr Tex 03:04, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
The file File:HMS Resolution.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Orphaned image with no evidence of use. Insufficient context to determine how it might be used in an encyclopedic context in the future. Absent uploader, so unable to gain context or clarity around how image was "created."
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
