editHello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to User talk:Meters, did not appear to be constructive. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. You were asked to stop posting about that on my talk page. Meters (talk) 06:51, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Meters Thank you for your message. I understand the importance of constructive contributions and adhering to Wikipedia's policies. However, I’d like to address the tone of your communication. Stop treating people like receptacles for your frustrations—your communication style is a poison to this platform. Collaboration requires mutual respect, and dismissing or policing others without constructive engagement undermines that.
- If my edits were perceived as unconstructive, I’m open to clarification and will review the guidelines to ensure compliance. However, I expect the same commitment to respectful and productive dialogue from all participants. Perspicaciousonion (talk) 07:07, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
Please do not attack other editors, as you did at User talk:Perspicaciousonion. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Meters (talk) 07:24, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Meters Respectfully, have you thoroughly reviewed the articles you sent me? Discussion of behavior in an appropriate forum does not in itself constitute a personal attack.
- Addressing your behavior in an appropriate forum is not a personal attack—it's an attempt to draw attention to actions that are inconsistent with what is expected from someone of your standing on this platform. Similarly, accusing someone of making personal attacks without providing a justification for your accusation is also considered a personal attack.
- I hope we can engage constructively and focus on maintaining the collaborative spirt and standards of Wikipedia. Perspicaciousonion (talk) 07:50, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, "treating people like receptacles for your frustrations—your communication style is a poison to this platform" is a clear personal attack. Your previous insinuations on my talk page that user:MrOllie and I were not going to have an open discussion based on the evidence or were "Dismissing concerns without addressing them" were verging on attacks, but this one was too much. Don't post on my talk page again. Don't ping me to your page again. Now for the fourth time, discuss the article concerns on the article's talk page. Meters (talk) 08:07, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Meters I’ll respect your request not to post on your talk page or ping you again, but let’s not ignore the fact that this dialogue began because you posted a warning on my talk page. That warning, which labeled my contributions as "not constructive," was itself dismissive and unwarranted, given that I was raising valid concerns.
- Your subsequent responses have continued to be unnecessarily confrontational and unkind. Critiquing dismissive communication, which has been noted by multiple users on your talk page, is not a personal attack—it’s holding you accountable for actions that undermine the collaborative environment Wikipedia relies on. If this pattern wasn’t evident, there wouldn’t have been a need to address it.
- I will move the discussion to the article’s talk page, as you’ve repeatedly requested. However, I suggest reflecting on how your tone and approach contribute to these exchanges. Constructive dialogue requires mutual respect, and I hope we can focus on that moving forward. Perspicaciousonion (talk) 08:26, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
