editHello there. Thanks for participating in this discussion. I posted a reply to your input on the discussion page, and was hoping that you might read it over and respond. thanks again. TheRingess 17:50, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- You were brilliant in there, Pinball. You "get" this wikipedia thing. I really enjoyed reading what you wrote and I'm glad the discussion went off on a tangent like that, it really stripped things down to some basic questions about what we're doing here. I have to give credit to TheRingess tho, he was equally brilliant and it was a stimulating debate! It reminded me of playing that game Phoenix Wright and TheRingess was playing the Edgeworth role. Well... I hope they keep the article! -- GIR 05:27, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Don't worry about the other one
editDon't worry about the other one- when I saw your message I did it myself. Only administrators can delete the resulting redirect that the Move Page function leaves on the userpage, so I did it for you. Keep up the good work :-) --Deskana (For Great Justice!) 20:41, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
RE:5.6.7.8
editFair enough, I apologise for the error. Sadly, those of us who are regular newpage patrollers see thousands of music and band-related articles every day, most of which are junk or self-publicity; thus, occasionally we make mistakes and a good article gets accidentally tagged for deletion (or vice versa, a bad one slips through the net). Bill Griggs article
editI read the 'like a resume' tag. I don't have a conflict of interest and I the information I wrote is supported by/cited in the sites listed in external links. Can you suggest what should be done to make it less resume-like? Is it the information itself or is it the words/tone?
-Scratchdawg 15:09, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- It's more the tone/style -- it's not terrible, just needs some work. The big thing that makes it jump out as having a problem is the lack of an introduction; check out the guide to layout for some suggestions about how to make a good intro. Without an opening paragraph that lets the reader know who we're talking about and why he's notable, it reads like a resume in that it's just a list of things about his life and accomplishments. Feel free to remove the tag once you've added an introduction, and just let me know if you need any help. Thanks for contributing to the Wikipedia! :) -- Pinball22 15:27, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- I added an introduction which I consider neutral. I removed the tag but if you feel it still needs to be there I guess just add it again.
- That looks good. Thanks! Pinball22 19:06, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

I agree that the Boki Bean article is probably a hoax -- I didn't find any information about anything named that on Google, or anything relevant about anyone named Gregor Handel. However, being a hoax is not one of the criteria for speedy deletion -- see WP:HOAX for more information about why. I've replaced the speedy tax with a hoax tag and a proposed deletion. Just a minor procedural thing, but I wanted to let you know why I changed it. Pinball22 19:33, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Thank you Pinball...appreciate the advice on the proper way of handling. Have a great day. Shoessss 19:36, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
The Boki Bean is real you lame ass, how dare you discard Gregor Hansel's greatest discoverey.
- Feel free to put it back, then, if you can provide reliable sources. Pinball22 14:02, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Reverting vandalism
editThanks for your efforts in tackling vandalism. However, it's sometimes easy to accidentally revert one anon edit to the previous version which also contains vandalism – in such cases it is necessary to revert to two or more anon edits to an earlier version. See ElgooG history (2007-03-05) for an example where you missed this! :-) MightyWarrior 17:31, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

DoB
editThanks for your note. Well, yes, I have looked at this page for the very first time, very interesting! Up to now I have created my contribution in the same style as I have seen on many other pages. And I really like to include "born" and "died", because that looks much nicer - to me... Also I like to include the place of birth/death into the bracket. So it is much easier to see this information at first glance. I hope this is not a problem. :) Doma-w 00:25, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

wow...
editthat was a lot of writing. And i appreciate you taking the time to write it. But I must say that I know this information from the guy who owns the fucking company, I mean that is pretty reliable. And, I mean, sourcing every single thing is tedious and really is not needed. Some things people just know. And who knows if any sources are correct, I could go out of my way to create a whole Alfred Dunner website and have it be completely fake. --TTNJ 19:49, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Response to back closures
editI'm sorry but I do not own a digital camera. That is why I have no picture for this article. I have plenty of clothes with back closures that would otherwise make excellent photo examples. It's too bad I can't use them. I do not have permission to use the pictures of such clothes in online catalogs either; these would otherwise look perfect too. I just learned about Wikipedia this year. I've been searching online for websites that I can use for references in this article. They are hard to find. Websites make the best references, because a link can be provided straight to them. For a printed book, it is much harder to fill in the information needed.
By the way, my son has Diaz-Fedder syndrome, a rare condition that is like autism. One problem he has is he is sensitive to having clothes on his body. When there are any on him, he does anything he can to take them off, like a drowning person panicking to come to the surface for air. The only way to keep him dressed is to put clothes on him he cannot take off himself. For a boy, these are hard to find. I had some back-zipping jumpsuits custom made that look boy-like. For extra security, I put a safety pin underneath the zipper pull tab, blocking the zipper from being pulled down. It sounds strange, but he is smart; he talks like a normal person and does well in special ed. Jumpygirl 15:34, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

The AfD for Running Gags on ATH
editThanks for the comments. I do have a question, though - if Biggspowd is blocked, how can he instigate an AfD? This really bothers me, especially since his userpage says that he left Wikipedia in June... Willbyr (talk | contribs) 17:12, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- He wasn't blocked at the time he started the AfD -- the block didn't happen until about four hours later. (You can see the block log for a user by going to their contributions and clicking on the Block log link at the top.) Apparently he never bothered to change his userpage after returning from retirement in June. Pinball22 17:22, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
IRC cloaks
editI did that thing with the nickserv, but what I didn't do was enter a new password, so I ended up registering "Spebi" with the [blank], and so I changed my nickname to "Spebi_enwiki" and then registered it with a proper password and email address, but apparently it still shows my IP. I'd prefer to have the chat over Wikipedia or email rather than on IRC, because it's too confusing, uh. Sebi [talk] 04:01, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Wikimania in Atlanta!
editHi! I noticed your involvement on U.S. South-related articles, categories and WikiProjects, and I wanted to let you know about a bid we're formulating to get next year's Wikimania held in Atlanta! If you would like to help, be sure to sign your name to the "In Atlanta" section of the Southeast team portion of the bid if you're in town, or to the "Outside Atlanta" section if you still want to help but don't live in the city or the suburbs. If you would like to contribute more, please write on my talk page, the talk page of the bid, or join us at the #wikimania-atlanta IRC chat on freenode.org. Have a great day!
P.S. While this is a template for maximum efficiency, I would appreciate a note on my talk page so I know you got the message, and what you think. This is time-sensitive, so your urgent cooperation is appreciated. :) Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 07:31, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
You said that you were the one attempting to mentor Bart? Could you please try again to explain to him that the comments of other users are not to be edited? Rather than list the large amount of diffs of his recent actions, I instead would like to direct your attention to Talk:List of centenarians, where my own comments have been edited by him recently. Something has to change. Thank you for time. Cheers, CP 23:11, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

- There's nothing wrong with having an article about it, but rewrite the ideas in your own words and cite your sources before you post it -- we have to delete it as a copyright violation if you just copy and paste someone else's words. Pinball22 21:42, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
