Welcome!

Hello, ROXETTE88, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Category order

edit

Hi Roxette, thanks for adding categories to Wikipedia articles. However, [[categories like Category:Australian people of English descent are not that important and should be placed near the end of the categories list. By convention, categories indicating birth and/or death year are placed either at the very start or the very end of the list, depending on personal preference. Sourcing categories

edit

Hi, Please make sure that the categories you are adding have a reliable source. Most of the ones you have added in the last few days have no sourcing and may be removed. Thanks Span (talk) 21:41, 27 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Category:Australian people of English descent

edit

Hi again, England is a part of the United Kingdom, which is why Category:Australian people of English descent is a subcategory of Australian people of British descent. Please do not remove it from that subcategory. If you continue to ignore messages on your talk page, as I notice you've done by putting the category in the wrong place at Scott Talbot-Cameron, you will be blocked. Graham87 01:55, 28 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Point taken. But please do not create extra work for editors by prioritising trivial categories about people's dissent over important ones about people's occupations and birth/death dates. If you continue to do this, you will be blocked. Also, categories exist to signify notable characteristics of people, not for genealogical wankery. Which accounts have you used besides Musicwikiedits (talk · contribs)? Graham87 14:18, 28 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for pointing that out; I often make that mistake. But it's clear that you're not here for collaboration, so I've blocked you. Cheerio! Graham87 14:24, 28 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Joseph Plottel 'Jewish decent'

edit

There are only 9 pages on Wikipedia identifying people as being of Jewish Decent. Plottel is already identified under Category:Australian people of Jewish descent "Jewish Architect" might be ok - there are 144 Wikipedia pages with this term, and there are also extensive List of Jewish architects and List of Jewish American architects, - but as comparison there are only 9 references to "christian architect", 53 to "catholic architect', 16 to "muslim architect" and no "atheist architect", suggesting some bias in the jewish architect designations. As Plottel did not exclusively work on religious commissions, and his religious or ethnic background has not been identified as having a special influence on his style, then I think it better not to include this point in the articles lead paragraph.Garyvines (talk) 03:14, 21 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
