Thank you. I am an experienced traditional journalist. Realitycritic345 (talk) 06:47, 28 October 2010 (UTC) Realitycritic345Reply

I apologise if you were insulted by the message above. Sometimes templates messages like the one above can seem unwelcoming or patronising, so I'm sorry for that. Unfortunately many editors who are writers or journalists in real life, or even published academics, have trouble at first getting to grips with Wikipedia's sometimes peculiar policies and guidelines. In particular, our manual of style is very complex and can take time to get used to.
I have started a discussion at the article talkpage, Talk:Tommy Swanhaus and invite you to join in. Please do not keep reverting edits that are improving the article according to out policies. Your edits give a strong impression that you have a conflict of interest here. Certainly User talk:Wgraves19 does. Perhaps you know Wgraves19? Perhaps you are her? Perhaps you both work for Swanhaus? Anyway, if you are Swanhaus, or you know him, or you work for him or have any kind of real life connection, you are strongly discouraged from making the kind of edits you've been making to the article. I'm sure you can appreciate that we don't encourage people to create their own articles as a kind of "profile", or to allow their managers/PAs/marketing department to do the same. It's best to make suggestions to the article talkpage and let other editors make changes as appropriate. You should probably also read our policy about using multiple accounts, just in case that applies.
I'm not sure what "seems to be stocking" means, although I'm curious! I look forward to your comments at Talk:Tommy Swanhaus. --BelovedFreak 10:05, 28 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your submission at Articles for creation: Tommy Swanhaus (September 3)

edit

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Bishal Shrestha was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: All the references provided are to an older revisions of article which doesn't mention about the subject of article, and few refs are from press release. Also, the article was deleted twice after AFD discussions.

  Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Draft:Tommy Swanhaus. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Tommy Swanhaus

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Tommy Swanhaus, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Realitycritic345. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. – Athaenara 00:07, 4 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
