Dear Rebfield:

Your interesting article about Giga Pets is in the Afc queue to be reviewed. Before this happens, can you please remove the references to ProQuest which all lead to a password page? The references you found all seem to be easily available on line, you should link to them directly. I have done the first three for you, but I have no more time. Thanks. —Anne Delong (talk) 11:27, 5 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Dear Rebfield: I received your e-mail, but please next time leave a message on my talk page at User talk:Anne Delong. I am currently chairing a large conference and I want to keep the Wikipedia stuff separate. Anyway, were you by any chance logged into the U of T Library system and using a search program called ProQuest when you looked up your sources? This could be the problem; it's a search engine that libraries pay for that can give you access to documents that aren't on line for free.

It may be that some of your sources are only available in this way. If so, that's okay, as long as yo have proper citations so that the reader can see which part of the text they support. Looks like you did! I suggest searching on Google or Yahoo for the titles of the articles that are giving your trouble, and if you find an online source, replace the reference. If you don't leave it the way it is.

Here's one I found: http://www.hasbro.com/common/instruct/Giga_Pets_HH_Elec__TV__44127-52752.pdfAnne Delong (talk) 04:05, 11 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Page merge

edit

Dear Rebfield: You may not have realized that Wikipedia already had a page called Giga Pet. When I saw this a asked help from a Wikipedia administrator to merge your page with that one because the original one wasn't very complete or well sourced. If you check your page Giga pets you will see that your article is now in the encyclopedia. If you want to see what the old page looked like, here it is old version of Giga pet. Maybe you'll find something on it that you want to add to your current version. There is also a redirect page, so that if someone types Giga Pets, it will send them to the Giga Pet article.

I hope that you will continue editing Wikipedia. Not all new editors take the time to figure out how to use proper citations. If you do, check out the Wikipedia:Teahouse, a forum especially designed to give help to new editors. That's where the friendliest Wikipedians can be found. —Anne Delong (talk) 15:00, 11 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
