I have submitted a new article, and all that comes up in response to a search is "User:Rittenhoused" etc. Does this mean I've done something wrong or that the article is under review?

Thanks.

Is User:Rittenhoused/Philip N. Diehl the article you are talking about? PJmdJIm (talk) 21:59, 14 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

That's the only article you have created. PJmdJIm (talk) 22:02, 14 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've fixed the category sorting problem by adding DEFAULTSORT. See Help:Category#Default_sort_key for more info. -- John of Reading (talk) 18:08, 15 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Philip N. Diehl. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. ukexpat (talk) 23:15, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Named refs

edit

You do realise that your recent edits to Philip N. Diehl completely undid my named references fixes? Please be careful when editing and if in doubt, ask. – ukexpat (talk) 20:01, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please STOP. You have munged all my hard work AGAIN. I know what I am doing and named references are the proper way to do this. It is also inappropriate to have more than 1 reference between <ref></ref> tags.  – ukexpat (talk) 21:34, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yes I have seen it and it is NOT done properly. Please read WP:NAMEDREFS - when a reference is used more than once, it should be "named" and only 1 reference should be between each set of <ref></ref> tags. – ukexpat (talk) 21:39, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
One more time, with feeling: please see WP:NAMEDREFS for the proper way to cite the same reference more than once. This is accepted practice on Wikipedia. – ukexpat (talk) 05:03, 19 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Awarding a Barnstar

edit

Awarding a barnstar is pretty easy. Basically you put the right template on the talk page of the person you want to reward and a message explaining why. See Wikipedia:Barnstars for a whole bunch of potential barnstars. For example, if someone wanted to give a barnstar for great work editing XYZ article you could put "{{subst:The Original Barnstar| I award you this barnstar for a great job editing [[XYZ article]]. ~~~~}}. The appropriate text and picture would be placed on the user's talk page. —Ute in DC (talk) 07:17, 21 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Philip N. Diehl may have broken the syntax by modifying 4 "{}"s and 1 "<>"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
