A little help

Would you mind explaining to me what I did that was seen as harassment by somebody? The message that you left on my talk page was not helpful in explaining what I supposedly did. On top of that, it was a little insulting, too, considering how it was worded for newcomers, not for editors that have made over 10,000 contributions. You don't - Wikipedia doesn't work like that. See WP:Ownership of articles and Wikipedia:Protection policy. If a page is affected by severe vandalism, temporary protection can be requested at WP:Requests for page protection, but protection is used reluctantly and only when necessary - only if vandalism has actually been occurring, not as a precaution because it might occur. Where protection is applied, it is more often "semi-protection" which only prevents editing by IP addresses and new accounts. JohnCD (talk) 18:55, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
