Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rachel Nichols (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:20, 8 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Invitation to WikiProject Portals

edit

The Portals WikiProject has been rebooted.

You are invited to join, and participate in the effort to revitalize and improve the Portal system and all the portals in it.

There are sections on the WikiProject page dedicated to tasks (including WikiGnome tasks too), and areas on the talk page for discussing the improvement and automation of the various features of portals.

Many complaints have been lodged in the RfC to delete all portals, pointing out their various problems. They say that many portals are not maintained, or have fallen out of date, are useless, etc. Many of the !votes indicate that the editors who posted them simply don't believe in the potential of portals anymore.

It's time to change all that. Let's give them reasons to believe in portals, by revitalizing them.

The best response to a deletion nomination is to fix the page that was nominated. The further underway the effort is to improve portals by the time the RfC has run its course, the more of the reasons against portals will no longer apply. RfCs typically run 30 days. There are 19 days left in this one. Let's see how many portals we can update and improve before the RfC is closed, and beyond.

A healthy WikiProject dedicated to supporting and maintaining portals may be the strongest argument of all not to delete.

We may even surprise ourselves and exceed all expectations. Who knows what we will be able to accomplish in what may become the biggest Wikicollaboration in years.

Let's do this.

See ya at the WikiProject!

Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   10:24, 21 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Unsourced content

edit

Please don't add content that does not exist in the source cited, as you did in this edit. For example, you added that Vertigo Entertainment is co-producing The Tuning, yet "vertigo entertainment" does not appear anywhere in the source cited. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 23:07, 4 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

edit

Red links exist to encourage article creation. For someone like Tyler Cook, who has gone through an WP:AFD, we shouldn’t encourage article creation because we know he isn’t notable based on the deletion discussion. See Wikipedia:Red link: “Red links should not be made to deleted articles unless the reason for the deletion of the article was not due to a lack of notability or the topic not being encyclopedic in another way.“ This is why the red link was removed from 2018 NBA draft. Rikster2 (talk) 11:14, 21 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much

edit

The RfC discussion to eliminate portals was closed May 12, with the statement "There exists a strong consensus against deleting or even deprecating portals at this time." This was made possible because you and others came to the rescue. Thank you for speaking up.

By the way, the current issue of the Signpost features an article with interviews about the RfC and the Portals WikiProject.

I'd also like to let you know that the Portals WikiProject is working hard to make sure your support of portals was not in vain. Toward that end, we have been working diligently to innovate portals, while building, updating, upgrading, and maintaining them. The project has grown to 80 members so far, and has become a beehive of activity.

Our two main goals at this time are to automate portals (in terms of refreshing, rotating, and selecting content), and to develop a one-page model in order to make obsolete and eliminate most of the 150,000 subpages from the portal namespace by migrating their functions to the portal base pages, using technologies such as selective transclusion. Please feel free to join in on any of the many threads of development at the WikiProject's talk page, or just stop by to see how we are doing. If you have any questions about portals or portal development, that is the best place to ask them.

If you would like to keep abreast of developments on portals, keep in mind that the project's members receive updates on their talk pages. The updates are also posted here, for your convenience.

Again, we can't thank you enough for your support of portals, and we hope to make you proud of your decision. Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   22:39, 25 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

P.S.: if you reply to this message, please {{ping}} me. Thank you. -TT

List of 2018–19 NBA season transactions

edit

It is common for ownership of a pick to go unannounced in team press releases. Given this, leaving out the team's name when it trades its own picks can give the impressions that the ownership of these picks was not announced. Clarity is more important than considerations of redundancy. Please do not remove such information again. G. Timothy Walton (talk) 18:11, 13 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Pony Canyon are the original distributor of the film. They distributed the film in Japan. Eleven Arts don't work in Japan as they're a U.S.-based company. A Playthrough of a Certain Dude's VRMMO Life moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, A Playthrough of a Certain Dude's VRMMO Life, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe, and currently has zero in-depth coverage. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 10:40, 17 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

So I to explain why I deleted the part you mentioned Vol. 15 is the last vol for Liar, Liar, the reason is that I tried to do the normal thing that every article does by saying it was published from X to Y with Z amount of volumes, but then after that, we would have the sentence where it said it ended with Vol Z which would look a little bit silly since we already said that, hence I deleted that part, but I used your citation for the whole modifications I did to the sentence since it was a perfect cite for all the info in the Light Novel section. It basically cited everything that was said in there. :) Anyway, I know it's a little stupid to come here; take your time by explaining this, but I just did it to make sure there are no hard feelings and thank you for always keeping things updated :D Parham.es (talk) 18:06, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

No hard feelings, really. I would have preferred it the way you edited it. SimonLagann (talk) 18:22, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Jellyfish

edit

Good evening. I clarified another user's addition of the category because at the moment only one character is more or less canon queer in the show...in terms of her gender identity. Which the author of the original edit agreed with, judging by his gratitude for my edit. But you canceled it without any comment. Could you explain why so that I can understand how to react to this? Solaire the knight (talk) 20:38, 14 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

I assumed that the category was supposed to indicate a narrative about a main character who is transgender, and that if that narrative was about a supporting character I would put LGBTQ instead. Admittedly, I have not seen the series. SimonLagann (talk) 21:02, 14 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
I see. Well, I've seen some articles include an additional LGBTQ category next to the more specific ones (for example, G-Witch contains both yuri and general LGBTQ categories), so I wouldn't mind adding that extra. It's just that this show is one of those types of all-female anime where the writers say "whether it's yuri or not depends on your point of view", so I thought that before any new statements were made, the trans category was more appropriate, since one of the characters in the show already is vaguely non-binary /genderfluid. I mean, she/he is canonically exploring her gender, etc., but the show doesn't give clear labels for it. Solaire the knight (talk) 21:06, 14 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
I tried adding an additional LGBTQ category as a more general one just in case. This is a compromise, so you can undo this if you want to go back to just the transgender category or reset the discussion. Solaire the knight (talk) 21:14, 14 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
