Ballet San Jose
editHello. I have already twice had to remove the link to Nahat's new (or other) company. See previous edit summaries in the article history. This link is not relevant to an article about Ballet San Jose. You could if you wish turn the Dennis Nahat redirect into a proper article where the link would indeed be relevant. I will add a standard welcome after this message with a few helpful links... Please also make sure you complete the edit summary with every change you make. That is your opportunity to explain why you are making a change. If the reason for a change is not obvious it is quite likely to be reverted. --Mirokado (talk) 21:57, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
- If the facts:
- Dennis Nahat FOUNDED Cleveland Ballet
- Cleveland Ballet BECAME Ballet San Jose
- One person (Fry) has pushed the FOUNDER of the Ballet Company out of the organization
- The Ballet San Jose FOUNDER has created another entity due to Fry's actions
- Somehow I do not understand why you believe that a link to the Dennis Nahat's new website and venture is NOT relevant to Ballet San Jose's status. — Preceding unsigned comment added by The web fixer (talk • contribs) 17:07 15 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. If you will forgive me, I will "refactor" it so you can see some of the ways wiki syntax is used (but we normally never change somebody else's entries on talk pages), and also the conventions for using these talk pages. We indent each reply by starting the lines with an extra colon as you see here. We put the replies after the earlier text, not before. We use a leading # for numbered lists (a leading star for unnumbered) and the indentation works as expected if the same prefix appears on several consecutive lines. (New sections go at the bottom of the page). Please also remember to sign each entry with ~~~~, in this case I have fixed the entry with a template. --Mirokado (talk) 22:55, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
- Now to reply. External links must provide extra information directly relevant to the subject of an article, must not be promotional, and must be added to improve Wikipedia not to further a particular interest or point of view, please see WP:ADV. Nahat's subsequent activities are not directly relevant to BSJ. If Nahat has now formally left and there is a reliable source (or the BSJ home page) for confirmation, we can add that information to the article (I will search for recent news, you are welcome to do so as well). That source would be a "reference" supporting article content rather than an "external link". I again suggest that you write a proper article for Nahat. --Mirokado (talk) 22:55, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
First, as Mr. Nahat formed both ballet companies, it would seem *extremely* relevant that he has formed another organization of similar focus.
Second, let me explain that Theatre Ventures International is a not-for-profit (US 501.c(3)) organization, EXACTLY like Ballet San Jose. So, your concern over the link being "promotional" is absurd. Why have a link to the BSJ website, as it "promotes" BSJ in exactly the same manner?
So, what follows are my search results regarding Nahat's departure (FIRING) by Fry.[1]

- Full text removed as copyright violation and barelinks turned into refs. I will look at these, some at least of which are already used in the article and the fourth I have just recently added, and comment further. --Mirokado (talk) 00:15, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
- All those references are in the article already (Harmanci 2012 taken from NYT and Hurst 2012 recently added) except Berman 2012. The information in Berman 2012 is more-or-less also in other references already present, so I don't see much need to add it to the article right now. But please see Talk:Ballet_San_Jose#Another_source. --Mirokado (talk) 00:58, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
