Edit to Beşiktaş J.K

edit

Hi, Isik. How was this edit on 21 October 2019 to Beşiktaş J.K made? I ask because I notice it's adding the |coauthor= parameter which has been obsolete for going on a decade. I'd be interested in knowing what tools still insert it. Also it's a good idea to clean up cite templates of empty parameters unlikely to be used. Cheers, Jason Quinn (talk) 13:32, 21 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Emmanuel Emenike edit

edit

Hi, Isik. I'm curious what tool you used to make this edit to the Emmanuel Emenike article. It's using deprecated parameters and I'd like to get it updated. Jason Quinn (talk) 10:09, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Jason. I hope this finds you well and apologise for my late reply. As you can imagine, I lost my appetite to contribute Wikipedia in recent years due to unclear rules or rather guidances, and rise of Deletionism. Well, It's on the other hand an honour to receive a message from an Administrator. In regards with your question, I use the templates listed at Citation templates, however; for webcitations, I keep the version that I use at my sandboxes as a quick link. Thus, I reckon perhaps I use an older version of the template. I'd be glad for any guidance for any better usage. There are some ongoing works at my sandboxes and I'd be glad to know if I can improve something. Regards. Isik (talk) 13:13, 29 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the update. You are correct. Your sandbox pages are out-of-date. In particular, you can delete all instances of |coauthor= or |coauthors= from them. Using |coauthor= was a mistake and it will not return. Multiple authors are now handled by numbering the author names |last1= |first1=, |last2= |first2=, etc. or |author1=, |author2=, etc., with the first type preferred for Western style names. Also, empty parameters should normally be deleted in our cite templates. Hope it helps. Cheers, Jason Quinn (talk) 14:56, 29 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Notability

edit

I agree that Ravil Tagir appears non-notable - please feel free to take to WP:PROD or WP:AFD if you wish. Ömer Beyaz however meets WP:NFOOTBALL. GiantSnowman 10:51, 22 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

We are an encyclopaedia, not a sports almanac. Having every single game/goal listed is not needed. The IP was right to remove that level of over detail. GiantSnowman 16:02, 30 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Murat Sağlam concern

Your draft article, Draft:Murat Sağlam

edit

Hello, Isik. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Murat Sağlam".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 04:50, 25 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Dear Blueandwhite87, many thanks for your efforts at Wikipedia. Please, when you update any staff/rosters, do not forget to bring date of the update on top of the tables (i.e., your staff update for BJK Academy). Regards. Isik (talk) 11:37, 1 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Turkish clubs

edit

Hi! I'm starting to find out about a lot of Turkish clubs that should probably have articles. If you are interested, please see Wikipedia:Requested_articles/Sports/Association_football_(soccer)#Turkey. Geschichte (talk) 17:56, 12 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Geschichte, it's an honour to receive a message from a notable editor like you. Thank you very much for information. I might be interested in these potential articles but the truth is, I can hardly find time to contribute here anymore and I don't enjoy it as I used to do. I do contribute the articles those I believe that they deserve a higher quality context and, to avoid vandalism/perception management. Thank you for the point though. Do you prioritise any of those items listed? I can help you, indeed. Regards. Isik (talk) 14:48, 17 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
I can make articles about the clubs, if I only have a basic source. What I need to find out is: (a) foundation date or year. (b) name of stadium. (c) a place to find logo. (d) which league is the highest the club has played in, or: when did the club last play in the top 3 tiers. Geschichte (talk) 16:40, 17 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
I need some time for such a task. At least couple of hours to find out reliable sources and related data. I hope I can help you asap, most likely, next weekend. Sorry that I can't help earlier since I almost have no time for Wikipedia during the week. Regards. Isik (talk) 19:48, 19 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

edit

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to censor or remove encyclopedic content based on the fact that it is offensive to some readers, as you did at Cizrespor, you may be blocked from editing. Wikipedia is not censored, and attempts to censor encyclopedic content will be regarded as vandalism. This is Wikipedia who decides what is allowed, not the Turkish Government, where everything "Gülenist" is equated to terror. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 11:24, 24 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

You think you can bring weblinks as so-called "references" from Gülenist propaganda tools and PKK trompets, using them against Turkey for your POV, and then try to blackmail me with "Vandalism" card? Go apply anywhere possible, wherever you want, go to ANF sites, go to even Jimbo Wales if you want! Isik (talk) 11:35, 24 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Stats tables

edit

Hi Isik - please do not link to league season articles in a player's career stats table when club season articles are already linked in the table as you did on Burak Yılmaz's page. Club-specific season articles take precedent. Thanks. Rupert1904 (talk) 03:34, 29 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

TFF

Hey, quick question, are you able to see the TFF player bios? When I click on the pages, it says: "This page is under maintenance in order to make the necessary arrangements in line with the Law of Personal Data Protection No. 6698 (KVKK)." Not sure if you are based in Turkey, and if this prompt is everywhere or just where I'm at. Hopefully this gets sorted out, the TFF is a really great resource. Cheers!--Ortizesp (talk) 06:14, 31 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello Ortizesp, I wish I could give a concrete answer to your question. It seems there that they have a maintenance at TFF website based on a recently applied law, although I think there was no issue in terms of compliance with it. Unfortunately, I don't know how long it will last. Cheers.Isik (talk) 10:18, 12 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Autopatrolled granted

edit

Hi Isik, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! – Muboshgu (talk) 19:36, 27 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Carter Williams

edit

The article Carter Williams has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not meet criteria for WP:NKICK. Passing mentions and event results are not sufficient to meet WP:GNG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 09:00, 22 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Edin Terzić (disambiguation)

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Edin Terzić (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
