Hello
I am a newbie and have finished creating a draft article but I'm unsure how to get it reviewed. Please can somebody help?
Many thanks
WPCW (talk) 14:22, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
- @WPCW: Hello, and welcome to your first article draft. I would recommend reading this article, which explains how to create your first draft and key elements to consider. After that, you should probably read this article explaining what to do with a userspace draft. Ultimately, once you have a good article subject, you can move the page to the mainspace (i.e. where all current articles are kept). For general help on contributing articles, see these links:

Hi and welcome. I'm not sure it makes a lot of sense to put a draft into Afc and then move it yourself. More importantly, the article's completely unsourced. Sources are the lifeblood of Wikipedia, in that they establish Notability and allow readers to Verify the contents. I'd strongly suggest you add a few otherwise the article's at risk of deletion. All the best. KJP1 (talk) 16:41, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for May 28
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Justices of the Peace Act 1361, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Crown (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:14, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
Hi. Thanks for the notification. Appreciated. I just did a copy edit for GOCE, which Rodw (sensibly) requested prior to GAN. So if you find anything wrong with the grammar, spelling, phraseology or MoS it's my fault. I will keep an eye on the assessment. (A fascinating, and IMO well written, article.)
Separately, I note that you are fairly new on Wikipedia, so I hope that it is not presumptive of my to say that if you have queries about anything feel free to ask me. I have only become active in the last six months and so have the advantages and disadvantages of being 'one chapter ahead'. Having been the beneficiary of the kindness of strangers during that six months I reckon that I owe some payback. Gog the Mild (talk) 11:02, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for your review at Talk:HM Prison Shepton Mallet/GA1 I believe the issues you have identified have been addressed. If there is anything else please let me know.— Rod talk 16:59, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

Bromfield and Yale
editI see that The Lordship of Bromfield and Yale is gone. I think that's a pity. I would have been willing to help improve it as an article. I'm not a historian, and I don't have access to any relevant sources, but I'm an experienced editor. I see also that you've created it as a category – an eccentric and ingenious solution, which probably violates some WP policy, though I shan't be complaining.
If you ever feel like re-creating it as an article, I hope you'll let me know. I'll do what I can to help. Maproom (talk) 08:01, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Maproom: The article would be quite large, need a substantial time commitment, and possibly handling a degree of controversy due to the many different points of view on it. It is something I will consider next year after writing my thesis on a completely different subject. Many thanks for your offer, when I start the article I will take it up. WPCW (talk) 18:59, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I wouldn't expect much controversy about a subject most editors will never have heard of – but one never knows. Maproom (talk) 19:43, 10 June 2018 (UTC)

invite to help edit pages on policing (US focus)
editHi WPCW, I've been doing work on Consent search and Terry stop, pages that outline the increased powers of the police in America to conduct investigatory detentions. I've put material in the Talk pages and am slowly rewriting the pages. So, this is an invite to help edit, if you're interested. Thanks! Seahawk01 (talk) 09:49, 12 November 2018 (UTC)

Papillon Hall, Lubenham
editHi and hello. I see you enjoy writing about buildings. Me too. If you're citing the Historic England listing record, you'd be better using this template, <ref>{{NHLE|desc=Wharf Barn|num=1182296|grade=II|accessdate=30 March 2020}}</ref>, rather than {{citeweb}}. It's the preferred approach. Just make sure you omit the "no wiki" at either end. Also, it's not necessary to repeat a cite after each sentence. If the same cite covers the whole paragraph, then a single cite at the end of that para. is sufficient. All the best and happy editing. KJP1 (talk) 11:43, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
- p.s. As Clwyd's of interest, we've also got a Welsh version, if you're citing Cadw; <ref>{{National Historic Assets of Wales|num=2698|desc=Glen Usk Temple|grade=II|access-date=22 February 2019}}</ref> Give me a shout if you need any help on using these. KJP1 (talk) 11:49, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

Ways to improve Chester and Wrexham Turnpike Trust
editHello, WPCW,
Thank you for creating Chester and Wrexham Turnpike Trust.
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
Sorry we need a bot more sourcing than this. At this time I doubt this would pass an AFD.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Slatersteven}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
