Unblock request
~delta/Archives/2023 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
Caught by an autoblock (Autoblock #19606046) that was caused by blocking doppleganger account User:SotSS, which I created. Furthermore the block settings for User:SotSS were "account creation disabled" but it should be changed to "autoblock disabled". -- Shadow of the Starlit Sky 03:42, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Procedural decline; I don't find an autoblock with that ID. Perhaps it has expired. The block was changed as you asked. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 04:14, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
-- Shadow of the Starlit Sky 03:42, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Jpgordon: Blocking admin changed block settings so there's no autoblock on my account anymore. -- Shadow of the Starlit Sky 04:19, 7 May 2023 (UTC)

Rollback granted
Hi Shadow of the Starlit Sky. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Courcelles (talk) 15:12, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks! I will make sure to use rollback responsibly to fight vandalism. -- Shadow of the Starlit Sky 15:39, 8 May 2023 (UTC)

NCIS: Los Angeles (Season 14)
Isn't it against Wikipedia policies to add summaries for episodes that have not aired yet? I remember I did that one time new to Wikipedia and unaware of that rule, then got absolutely HOUNDED! 50.232.92.83 (talk) 11:32, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- What specific policy are you referring to? -- Shadow of the Starlit Sky 11:49, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- The only related rule I know of would be WP:CRYSTAL. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:42, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
Your email to me
Generally I have a rule that Wikipedia business should remain on Wikipedia, in the open. It was not clear from your email what action you wanted from me as an administrator, and it would be difficult for an administrator to take any action based on private communication anyway. Regarding "letter" versus "spirit" of a rule, I don't see anything actionable in the situation you described. Also, in my view you did nothing wrong, but if you have become embroiled in a situation that you're rather not be part of, then simply back away and cease your involvement. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:58, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Anachronist; I had wanted to contact an uninvolved administrator regarding this to see if a breach really occurred or not in this situation. -- Shadow of the Starlit Sky 21:12, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- In this particular case, I don't see a breach. ~Anachronist (talk) 21:18, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, understood :) -- Shadow of the Starlit Sky 21:20, 11 May 2023 (UTC)

WP:UAA reports on users with no edits
Generally, there is no reason to report usernames with no edits whatsoever. Per WP:UAAI: "Only report accounts with edits and do not report those with no edits in the preceding 2 weeks. Do not report a user that has not edited or has not edited in the preceding 2 weeks, except for an instance of an egregious name violation. We do not want to welcome productive editors with a report at UAA, nor do we want to waste time dealing with accounts that may never be used." The exceptions are obvious hate speech or names that attack a living person/Wikipedia editor, those are blockable even without any edits, but other run-of-the-mill violations such as names of organizations or products need not be reported unless and until they at least attempt to edit, and you should be able to clearly explain what the problem is if it is not immediately evident.
For whatever reason, every day dozens, if not hundreds of accounts are created that never make one single edit. It is our responsibility as admins to conscientiously review every report a user makes at UAA, so we have to check for contribs, deleted contribs, and tripping of the edit filter for every one of these reports, only to find out there's nothing there and therefore no problem to be solved. That's time that could be spent doing more productive things, but you basically obligate admins to do it by making such reports. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:05, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- Understood. I will avoid making these reports in the future. -- Shadow of the Starlit Sky 21:11, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
Tetovo Changes
The Nanov Dol information is irrelevant in the article for Tetovo. The source itself mentions Nanov Dol which does not exist in Macedonia at all. The original source is from a book from 1929 that deals with the Vlachs in Romania. There is a Nanov Dol in the border of Bulgaria and Romania and it is almost certain this is the one being discussed. How is reverting an edit that adds information about a situation that has no bearing to Tetovo get reverted for vandalism? Skkaveola (talk) 16:08, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Skkaveola You have not added information, you have removed sourced, cited content. Please explain your reasons for removal in more detail- I do not have context so I may not understand the full situation here.
- (Pinging @Alltan and @Botushali as they have also been involved in previous edits in the same article) -- Shadow of the Starlit Sky 16:23, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
- the user in question himself has said that "its likely" refering to the Nanov Dol in Bulgaria/Romania. What is not being considered here is that the source details an event which happened close to 700 years ago, and that placenames... change. If the user is able to provide the full quote from the 1929 book, perhaps a more fruitful discussion can arise. Alltan (talk) 19:04, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
- The reason it was removed was because previously the text stated that "Dusan barred everyone, including the Albanians" which was "sourced" but it turned out that the citation contained no such text at all. I agree that it should be investigated further and I have, reading the 1929 primary source which did correspond to the text as it is written right now.
- It was only after several of my edits that the actual source was posted and the text was written properly. If you want to avoid further needless removals please make sure that the work cited actually contains the text that is in the article.
- Cheers. Skkaveola (talk) 18:36, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- In fact the current page for Polog contains the same copy pasted text and it reads: "Dušan barred everyone, particularly the Albanians, from grazing the sheep in these highlands." with the original source which does not have that text at all. At least not on the pages mentioned. Now, if the person that wrote that actually checked the source he would know that it:
- - Does not mention barring everyone
- - Mentions barring albanians specifically
- - Also mentions the banning of Vlachs specifically
- Now, as to whether the Vlachs were omitted purposefully or accidentally I cannot say. But this is the issue of using sources that are several interpretations of the primary source on top of each other. Skkaveola (talk) 18:42, 15 May 2023 (UTC)

Why you revert from Gorontalo, and West Sulawesi
I didn't understand why you reverted the name of the Acting Governor who was already in office, didn't you look at the Indonesian Wikipedia, or copy the name I replaced? 180.252.160.133 (talk) 15:04, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
DYK for Prodigy Education
On 25 May 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Prodigy Education, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was .... that Prodigy Math Game was initially created as a school project? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Prodigy Education. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Prodigy Education), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed.
