Fictional character biography

edit

Vertigo was a member of the group of witches known as Salem's Seven led by Nicholas Scratch.[volume & issue needed] She is the daughter of Scratch, and granddaughter of Agatha Harkness.

Wizard reformed the Frightful Four using Gazelle, Reptilla, and Vertigo of Salem's Seven, and they attacked Chicago to get the attention of Mister Fantastic. Mister Fantastic was almost defeated by the Frightful Four until Scarlet Witch appeared to help him.[1]

She was killed in the explosion of magical forces caused by the Scarlet Witch that destroyed New Salem.[2] After, Vertigo and the rest of the Seven were eventually resurrected and began living peacefully in New Salem.[3]

Powers and abilities

edit

Vertigo was able to induce sensations of extreme vertigo in her opponents.

Vertigo's alter-ego form (nonetheless very human-looking) is capable of wielding magic on par with the rest of the New Salemites. In addition, she is able to assume a form that allowed her additional powers-- those of inducing extreme and debilitating nausea in her victims. This ability was augmented and amplified by the Wizard.

  • Okwui Okpokwasili portrays Vertigo in Agatha All Along.[4] She is a member of Salem's Seven, referred to by Rio Vidal as some of the worst witches around. This implying that she is a very powerful witch with centuries of knowledge. She and her group arrived at Agatha Harkness's house as her coven was reciting the Ballad of the Witches' Road.[5]
