Backwards movement rarely gets you to your destination. This is as true on Wikipedia as anywhere. If someone makes a change you don't like, don't just blindly revert it. Instead, look at it. Do they raise a legitimate concern with the prior version? Try to reach a compromise. If they're replacing material, see if anything the version they're replacing it with is worth keeping. If they're cutting down a lengthy section, think about whether a shorter section with a small summary section would work better. Try to work towards a version that everyone can agree on.
