Function details: Very simple task. {{Tennis events 2}} has been a wrapper for ages, but no-one ever got around to substituting all the transclusions. Please note that the documentation for {{Tennis events 2}} suggests updating {{{type}}}
with "men" or "women" according to the type of tournament, but those two inputs generate the exact same output currently (which you can see at Module:Tennis events nav, where {{{type}}}
is used).
\{\{\s*(Tennis events 2|MastersEvents2|TennisEvents2) --> {{subst:Tennis events 2
Discussion
edit- As a side note, many similar tasks are coming up as I clean out the backlog at WP:TFD/H. Thoughts on whether it would be appropriate to file a general BRFA to use similar regex to carry out simple substitution of wrappers to complete TfD merges/deletes would be helpful. There is precedent for such a BRFA here. ~ RobTalk 23:48, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes, I think approval for substitution of wrappers for template merging or deletion in response to clear TfD closures will be fine after we're done. Until then, Approved for trial (50 edits). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. — Earwig talk 05:47, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
