Good sharpness, reasonable DOF, and I like the white bg. Really hard for me to pick from the different versions. Please have a look at these: Image:Huntsman spider white bg04.jpg, Image:Huntsman spider white bg02.jpg and see if one of those looks better to you.

Answer The spider was on my window (probably hunting flies attracted to my light. So I got my brother to hold up a A2 piece of paper as a good backdrop (much better than the inside of my room!) went outside and took the photo with a flash. Oppose. It doesn't matter to me that there's another similar FP. Each image should be judged on its own merits, for better or worse. The existence of another similar image should have no bearing. However, this type of image is of academic interest only. The composition, lighting, etc almost don't even matter. The point of the image is to accurately illustrate the spider. It serves that purpose, but I don't think it's FP-worthy on that criterion alone. I doubt there are many such images I would support for FP status. (FWIW, I wouldn't support the existing FP either, if it came up for vote today, for the same reasons.) -- moondigger 04:00, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
