- Children's Museum artifact database: The Children's Museum has 1,000 artifacts from their 120,000 piece collection (under 10%) digitized in the Indianapolis Marion County Public Library (IMCPL) artifact database.
- General search terms are linked below which link to detailed metadata and provenance research about the object.
- Most artifacts include an image. Some of these have been uploaded to Wikimedia Commons already, but many have not. Let me know if you'd like a specific image uploaded and I will include it in our next batch of museum image donations.
- Children's Museum images in Commons: These images, which have been donated by the museum need to be dispersed in order to be more fully utilized. Please feel free to include them in your Simple English articles.
- As noted above, if you find an image in IMCPL that is not yet uploaded, let me know and I can add it.
- Remember that only objects that do not have copyright restrictions can be uploaded to Commons. Many toys, such as Barbie, G.I.Joe, Star Wars, and many board games, will not be able to be uploaded to Commons.
- Museum Collections pages: For general information on collection objects, see the associated Collections pages.
- InfoZone IMCPL Branch: The Children's Museum houses a branch of the IMCPL library. It is located in the welcome center and is open free of charge and extended hours.
- Specific questions: As you complete your research, post a note on my talk page if you have specific questions about objects in the Children's Museum collection. I will compile these questions and pass them on to our curators. Since they are very busy preparing for our holiday season, this will include only specific questions that can not be otherwise answered through thorough research.
