editMedal of Honor inquiry
editCan you search the database for Medal of Honor recipients with a specific occupation? Thank you; Chuck108.16.177.105 (talk) 02:41, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- I think Wikipedia:Reference desk/History may be more suitable for this: reference desks are places where users can ask about specific information which may be contained in articles. Thanks, --Rubbish computer (HALP!: I dropped the bass?) 19:16, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

Can't edit even a single page
editHey there,
I just opened up an account and just tried to add one single related source and wikipedia keeps giving me error and accuses me for editing too many pages in short time where this was literally the very first edit that I tried to perform. Please advice — Preceding unsigned comment added by Josh an (talk • contribs) 15:59, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Josh an: It looks like you were able to make an edit. Though it was reverted here due to our external links guideline. Dismas|(talk) 20:15, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
Citation error
editThere is a citation error on the page gun control that apparently results from a reference being defined twice with different content each time. I can't figure out what's wrong with this page, partly because I'm not familiar with the sfn citations used in most of it. Can someone fix whatever is wrong here? Everymorning (talk) 16:21, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- Seems to be fixed with this edit. -- John of Reading (talk) 16:40, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
CAPTHCA malfunction
editI want to add a citation in the place labelled CITATION HERE : below
in the following article
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_Crisis_(2011%E2%80%9314)
"These actions were denounced as a coup by opposition leaders of all kinds and many within the Brotherhood, who feared that they will lose much of the political ground they have gained since Hosni Mubarak was ousted 16 months before. CITATION HERE : http://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/jun/14/egypt-parliament-dissolved-supreme-court" Just above the subtitle "2012–13 presidency of Mohamed Morsi[edit source | edit]"
However, everytime I click to save the changes .. it doesn;t work and gives me a new CAPTCHA word I have enetered the new words about 30 times but still failed !!
I succeeded in making several other changes today in the same article and using the same laptop and same steps .. There seems to be some sort of a bug — Preceding unsigned comment added by Honoring Truth (talk • contribs) 17:51, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- This is an issue with our visual editor software. Please go to the top of the article you are trying to edit and click on "edit source" and try the edit again. Please report back if you still cannot edit. --Stabila711 (talk) 18:04, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

Move existing article image to infobox
editHi there, I'm having trouble with the display of the media and information I'm trying to add to the following article:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_H._Chapman_Space_Centre
I would like the image I've uploaded to appear within the info box I've created. I would very much appreciate some insight as to how this issue may be resolved. I apologize if this is a novice question!
Thank youMenteau41 (talk) 19:37, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- I don't know where you copied the "infobox organization" from but it was missing most of the parameters, including the "image" and "caption" parameters which you needed to insert the image.
I have copied the full infobox from Template:Infobox organization and transferred the data and picture into the full template. You had a parameter "Jurisdiction = Government of Canada" which did not show up in your infobox, as this parameter is not supported by that template.
Please do not worry about, or delete, the empty parameters - these are not visible in the article, and several of them will probably be filled in over time. - Arjayay (talk) 19:49, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
Someone posted a false birthdate for my wikipedia page and I would like it changed immediately please. The URL is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Mack Please help, thank you!Tfrancis 1 (talk) 21:44, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- It's not your page, it's a page about you, and you have a conflict of interest, so you should not be editing it. Since there is no reliable independent source for your date of birth, I've removed it. Dbfirs 22:10, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- Quite right, except we should also remember to include our thanks for pointing out the inadequacy of the article. Jim.henderson (talk) 00:46, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
- I believe there was an attempt at deception, but the article is likely to be deleted anyway, so the attempt backfired. Dbfirs 08:30, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
CAPTCHA doesn't work
editHi, I wanted add the source of information to my edition and I can't. Every time when I try it gives me a new CAPTCHA word. I tried this many times, it doesn't work. Can anybody help me plese? Thank you in advance Witold (talk) 23:56, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Witold: See the above section #CAPTHCA malfunction. This is an issue with our visual editor software. Please go to the top of the page you are trying to edit and click on "edit source" and try the edit again. Please report back if you still cannot edit. --Stabila711 (talk) 05:36, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
- I have seen it, I have tried it. When I tired to edit via show source, at the end I had to provide CAPTCHA, and the story was same. Witold (talk) 10:47, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
- Today it's working (source editing)! Thanks for the support Witold (talk) 13:00, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
