No, the page has not been 'approved'. And nor will it be in the state it is in now, since it entirely fails to demonstrate that this individual meets Wikipedia:Notability criteria, through significant coverage in independant reliable published sources. But how to show more proof? The page is about a DJ who produced 2 famous songs. Links to the songs have been added. What else is needed? Do you need a copy of the passport of the artist? JonathanV123 (talk) 04:50, 20 September 2022 (UTC)

We don't need 'links to songs'. We need evidence that the subject of the article meets Wikipedia notability criteria. Which cannot be demonstrated through a bizarre link to a Google book search result referencing a Journal Encyclopédique from 1775. Or a link to Jayvé's YouTube channel. Or a link to an Amazon page flogging his album, even with the claim that Jeff Bezos wrote the page. Read the material you have been directed to, and come back when you can provide actual evidence of significant coverage in independent published reliable sources. @JonathanV123 "How to show more proof" is to study the information at the links in Andy's first reply (the words and phrases in blue). Especially "reliable published sources". Messed up infobox - Congress of Tamaulipas

The infobox at Congress of Tamaulipas is wierd with multiple occurances of "line-height:1.2em; padding:.1em 0;" that I don't understand. I don't see any issues in the parameters and the infobox itself hasn't changed recently, ideas?Naraht (talk) 06:25, 20 September 2022 (UTC)

@Naraht and Neveselbert: Sorry to butt in. Fixed for real, now, looks like, but... I have to be honest, I don't see the point of using {{longitem}} at all on successive, separate class="infobox-full-data" rows. It's meant to be used when there are long items within a single row, such that the contents of the row (might) line-wrap. But none of these lines are wrapped, and they're all in separate cells.

• {{longitem}} Sets line-height: 1.2em, reduced from the default 1.5em, and swaps in a padding: .1em 0 to somewhat-compensate. That leaves text within a table row less spread out, but retains the separation between rows.
• The infobox is then overriding with line-height: 1.3em, which renders the height of successive rows literally identical to where things started with line-height: 1.5em.

The only adjustment of any real consequence that seems to come of this, in the end, is increasing the space between the "Leadership" heading and the first name (due to the {{longitem}} padding), and really that's so minor (0.1em) that it seems unnecessary.

If the list of leaders in "Leadership" were all in one row, as an unbulleted list, then I could see the point of {{longitem}} applied to that entire list. But as separate rows like this? It's basically pointless, unless I'm missing something. Again, sorry to butt in, and in the end editors can of course design their articles however they please. But there's a lot of styling going on here for precious little net effect, which seems like a fiddly time-sink. FeRDNYC (talk) 10:07, 27 September 2022 (UTC)

South African Institute of Tax Professionals

Good day

I have be trying to edit the page South African Insitute of Tax Professionals, which changed its name to the South African Institute of Taxation.

I have failed at all attempts as I am not an admin of the page, where I have edited some information it always comes back to its old default page contents.

How do I navigate around this and/or fix it as I am the Head of Communications in the said institute?

• @MikeSAIT: To start with, you should read WP:PAID and make the mandatory disclosure before editing any further. Once that is done, I assume your question is about South African Institute of Tax Practitioners.

The fact that you are the head of communications does not give you any special rights in how the article should be written. On the contrary, it means you should avoid editing the article directly yourself, because it will be hard for you to write in a neutral manner consistent with Wikipedia’s core purpose.

Case in point, looking at the page history, I see you have tried to edit the page, but your edit was reverted by ProClasher97. They did not leave an edit summary, but presumably they object to the promotional language you tried to edit in (for instance, SAIT’s mission is to uplift the profession (...) Members must adhere to a strong set of ethics (...)).

You should instead head over to the talk page of the article, in that case Talk:South_African_Institute_of_Tax_Practitioners, start a discussion that says explicitly what changes you want (in a "change X to Y" format, not a general "improve this section"). If you copy-paste the magic code {{edit request}} at the top of your post there, it will bring the request to the attention of editors who patrol such requests, and make it likely that you will get a quick answer.

I also see that someone else, with the account name MMMaseko, tried to put in a similarly promotional edit before, and was similarly reverted. Given the similarities in editing timing, I suspect that person is part of your communications team. Please clarify and have them make the same WP:PAID disclosure if needed. @MikeSAIT: As you are part of the institute you have a paid relationship and must disclose said relationship, which is usually done on your user page at User:MikeSAIT. You should also not directly edit the article because of this, and instead make edit requests on the article's talk page at Talk:South African Institute of Tax Practitioners. There is always the possibility of variation in transliterating a name from a differnt script, but all the English sources cited spell his name as "Roni" not "Ronny". Unless you can cite Reliable source that names him as "Ronny", your changes are inappropriate, and I will be reverting them. ColinFine (talk) 10:14, 20 September 2022 (UTC)

Doris Mwirigi If you are talking about our article Kenya Airways it does not have a telehone number to update, as we do not put telephone numbers in our articles. Are you by any chance referring to a photo or text shown to the right of a Google search? Google's Knowledge Graph uses a wide variety of sources. There may be a text paragraph ending with "Wikipedia" to indicate that particular text was copied from Wikipedia. An image and other text before or after the Wikipedia excerpt may be from sources completely unrelated to Wikipedia. We have no control over how Google presents our information, but Google's Knowledge Graph has a "Feedback" link where anyone can mark a field as wrong. Wikipedia is not a directory of businesses where mere existence warrants a mention; it is an encyclopedia with criteria for inclusion, called notability, such as the definition of a notable organization. To be included in a list, there must already be an article about your newspaper. You should not be the one to write it, please read WP:COI and WP:PAID for information on required formal disclosures. 331dot (talk) 10:10, 20 September 2022 (UTC)

@331dot. The list article Newspapers in Ireland has dozens of redlinks and content with no evidence of notability, especially in the section on closed newspapers. As such it may need extensive clean-up per WP:STAND, although there are exceptions mentioned at WP:LISTCOMPANY. The Dublin Gazette has an entry with inline citation to its own website but it is not clear what the IP is asking for since there is no separate "freesheets" section. AN/ANI vs AIV

Hello! I'm curious, when is it appropriate to take a user who has a clear misunderstanding of WIkipedia's policies to AN/ANI compared to AIV? Removing italic from title

The title for the article Temple of Dendur is in italic. As suggested by another editor on the talk page, this is in error. I found instructions on how to add italic a title, but not how to remove it. Any suggestions Rublamb (talk) 21:30, 20 September 2022 (UTC)

Hi @Rublamb! It's being italicized because Template:Infobox artwork does so automatically. You can end this automatic behavior by adding |italic title=no as an infobox parameter. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 21:34, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
