Jimbo on "non commercial only" uploaded before May 19, 2005: Older images should go through a process of VfD to eliminate them in an orderly fashion, taking due account of "fair use".[1] As there is no fairuse rational given, the image should be deleted as it is equivalent to a copyright violation. -- Kim van der Lindeat venus17:24, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Conditional keep provided that the rights issue gets properly resolved. The image is antisemitic, but its current use in an article is relevant and thereby justified. gidonb21:09, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It hasn't for over a year, and there are a substantial number of free cartoons out there, so there is no fair use rational to start with. But what the heck, Wikipeida is full of copyright vio's anyway. -- Kim van der Lindeat venus15:13, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I hope you understood that I do not approve of copyright violations. I did approve of the use of the image only if its rights were to be resolved. Allas. gidonb17:50, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I understood that, but I also understand that Jimbio already told us at May 19 2005 that all these should go through IfD to determine whether they are fair use, and if not, to be deleted. Your conditional keep did not address that, and as such, it should be defaulted to copyvio. I actually feel that we might want to address this more general, and set a end date for providing fair use rationals and delete everything that does not have one after that. -- Kim van der Lindeat venus21:00, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Then let me clarify somewhat: I voted for keep only if a good copyright solution was to be found. I agree with Jimbo's statement and think that we should not use copyrighted materials without a good legal excuse. If it isn't found, I support removal of the picture materials. gidonb22:47, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Deleted. As it was being used in the article, it did not constitute proper fair use. This image was not being discussed at all the in text. Inclusion of either of the cartoons described in the article would be appropriate. howcheng {chat}17:16, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
