Wikipedia:Magic spell to deal with "unpatrollable" pages
This page is currently inactive and is retained for historical reference. Either the page is no longer relevant or consensus on its purpose has become unclear. To revive discussion, seek broader input via a forum such as the village pump. |
There was a bug in the article patrol mechanism which made it apparently impossible to mark certain articles as patrolled. For example: Ann other was moved to Ann Other without redirect. The new pages report shows Ann other as unpatrolled but it is not possible to mark it as patrolled.
Kludge
editThe kludge is this:
- click on the link in the new pages report. This will take you to a deletion log page.
- go to the address bar and replace the title in the URL with 0 (or any title of a page that actually exists - the important bit is to preserve the rcid= part of the URL) and load that URL.
- the 0 article will display with a [Mark this page as patrolled] link at the bottom of the page.
- click on [Mark this page as patrolled].
- "The page 0 has been marked as patrolled" will display but in fact ann other page altogether has been marked.
Thanks
editThanks to Tom Morris (talk · contribs) for describing this kludge and for raising Bugzilla case 17463 which should solve the problem. Also, thanks to Roan Kattouw for resolving the bug.
Notes
edit{{db-unpatrolled}} was part of the other way of clearing unpatrolled flags. bugzilla:30368 also relates.
