If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

edit- The Goat Life → Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life (move · discuss) – the film's original titile is Aadujeevitham, with The Goat Life also being included in the official film poster, just below the main title Aadujeevitham. While CBFC certificate only lists Aadujeevitham, BBFC certficate [1] has the title Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life. To satisfy both original and common name, the article's name should be renamed as Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life. Jayanthkumar123 (talk) 07:12, 7 August 2024 (UTC)

edit- Euphoria Morning → Euphoria Mourning (currently a redirect back to Euphoria Morning) (move · discuss) – This gives the article title the same name as the proper album title mentioned in the article. Motorologist (talk) 11:04, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- There's a case to be made for this, but it's not uncontroversial. 162 etc. (talk) 18:21, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- I won't move this because Euphoria Morning seems to be the WP:COMMONNAME. Additionally, the lead can be revised to start with Euphoria Morning followed by Euphoria Mourning, explaining the latter. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 20:25, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- Euphoria Morning is the name that the artist himself expressed regret in choosing and made efforts to correct, according to source [5] from the article, it isn't generally accepted as the official or informal title for the album. Because the Euphoria Mourning album title was a correction rather than an simply an alternate or later title, editing the lead to match the title seems like it would require odd, unnecessary language and possibly omissions to avoid suggesting the article title should be changed too, though I'm not aware of how other cases like this are taken. Motorologist (talk) 07:00, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- Being familiar with Cornell's career and this album, I think the current situation is correct and should remain as-is (except for the article's opening sentence). Even though the first edition's title was not what Cornell intended, that is the version that received pro reviews, made the charts, and attracted a Grammy nomination, so that is the official title per WP's WP:COMMONNAME rule. The reissued version has the slightly different title, but that version received much less media coverage and public notice, and the reason for the spelling change is already described adequately in the article. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 13:29, 5 August 2024 (UTC)

- Ashley Cain-Gribble → Ashley Cain (figure skater) (currently a redirect back to Ashley Cain-Gribble) (move · discuss) – Cain no longer goes by her double-barrelled married name, having divorced her husband in 2022 APM (talk) 13:06, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- Are there any reliable sources that confirm this? I don't see any cited in the article. A quick Google search turned up this Reddit thread from 2022, Is Ashley Cain-Gribble getting divorced?, but no confirmation. Most news sources that I found from 2022 still referred to her as Ashley Cain-Gribble, but the news coverage seems to drop off after she and her skating partner retired from competition. She's referred to as Ashley Cain-Gribble in this People Magazine piece from 2023, but she goes by Ashley Cain on social media. Her official website has her as Ashley Cain at the top of the page, though the bottom of the page still reads, "Ashley Cain-Gribble & Timothy LeDuc’s official website is written and produced by Ashley & Timothy...". Buffalkill (talk) 14:04, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- Frustratingly, it doesn't appear so. They must've finalized the divorce sometime last year as Dalton Gribble will be marrying again, but I couldn't find any confirmation of this from reliable sources. It doesn't help that she shares her name with a semi-pro footballer and reality television personality who also split with his partner around the same time. APM (talk) 15:43, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- @AmorPatiturMoras, I also couldn't find sources for that, but Ashley Cain-Gribble appears to be her WP:COMMONNAME. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 22:15, 3 August 2024 (UTC)

- Wiener Derby → Vienna derby (currently a redirect back to Wiener Derby) (move · discuss) – per MOS:AT, WP:TRANSLITERATE, and WP:COMMONNAME. Vienna is the most commonly-used name for the city and derby is a common noun. KingSkyLord (talk | contribs) 13:56, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- @KingSkyLord: I think this one requires discussion. Of the two English-language sources I found, one calls it the Wiener Derby[2] and the other calls it Viennese Derby[3], "Viennese" being the correct translation of "Wiener". Station1 (talk) 18:37, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Station1: For articles about association football rivalries, common practice is to use the name of the place not an adjective in the article title (e.g. Dundee derby, not Dundonian derby; South Madrid derby, not South Madrilean derby or Derbi del sur de Madrid), unless it is always only referred to what they call it in their language (e.g. El Clásico, Revierderby). Those two sources are not concrete enough to keep the article's title in German instead of English. KingSkyLord (talk | contribs) 21:45, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- I notice Revierderby says "Outside Germany, it is often referred to as the Ruhr derby", and that some titles do use the adjectival form, such as Montenegrin Derby. I'm not necessarily going to oppose this if it is the convention, but I would be hesitant to move an article to a title that doesn't appear in sources without giving others the chance for input. - IBM AIX → AIX (currently a redirect back to IBM AIX) (move · discuss) – Shorter, more concise. AIX already redirects to this article, and WP:DIFFCAPS should allow for this. DigitalIceAge (talk) 03:45, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- A previous RM that is still on the talk page found no consensus for this exact move. As such, I am moving this to the "contested" area. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 04:52, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- Jace Chan → JACE (move · discuss) – Jace Chan is the English name of Chan Hoi Wing, but we hope to present her under the stage name JACE on Wikipedia. Christineyuu (talk) 09:21, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- Jace Chan appears to be her WP:COMMONNAME. Also, you said "we", do you have any relationship with Jace. If so, you have to show follow the rules t WP:COI. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 11:08, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- The English-languages sources cited in the article all appear to use "Jace Chan". Note also that the proposed title violates MOS:ALLCAPS. 162 etc. (talk) 16:20, 6 August 2024 (UTC)

- @ElijahPepe: On the contrary. See, e.g., Category:Google litigation. Scholarly legal sources and courts normally include "Ltd.", "Ass'n", etc., which is called for by Bluebook (the most common U.S. legal citation style) and other case citation guides. Aside from criminal trials known for reasons other than the legal precedent established (which are often titled like "Trial of [defendant]"), U.S. case article titles normally follow Bluebook. - Raúl Gómez → Raúl Gómez (Cyclist) (move · discuss) – There are other popular people named Raul Gomez, according to Google, since an actor raul gomez, is first listed on google. Mant08 (talk) 19:32, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Mant08, I think that if a page is created on en.wiki for Wikidata:Q9066857, then a move would be more appropriate at that time. If necessary, we could add a hatnote that there is a notable actor on the es.wiki Raúl Gómez (actor) in the meantime. -2pou (talk) 21:43, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- Agree this would be premature. Only once another article is written on Wikipedia might this make sense. And in any case, we would use a lower case c. Station1 (talk) 22:16, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
- Aeroflot Flight 31 (1955) → Aeroflot Flight 31 (move · discuss) – Remove unnecessary year disambiguation. Meltdown627 (talk) 18:07, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
