  • There are currently 59 articles that need an infobox. Please help to add these using {{Infobox MLB retired}} or {{Infobox MLB player}}.
  • There are currently 198 unassessed articles. At the last newsletter publication, there were 79, which isn't a good improvement, let's hope we can change that. The total number of articles within the project's scope is now OVER 1500. Great job everyone!
  • There are 7 new articles. Please help to expand them where possible.

Other

  • We have sadly missed two deadlines for the newsletter delivery and we're sorry for the inconvenience. This newsletter is from 4 days ago. We hope this doesn't happen again.

A new items have been added to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Boston Red Sox. The AL east baseball standings is added by User:RyRy5.

  • The projects' top importance article, Boston Red Sox has been suggested for a splitting (sections turn into seperate articles with the most important of the information staying on the Red Sox page, but all of the information going to the new page). The discussion is here.
  • User:Jj137, the founder, is on wikibreak so User:RyRyBot is delivering the newsletter until further notice.

Team news

On April 24, 2008, Justin Masterson made his Major League debut against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in an emergency call-up start. He pitched six full innings and allowed one run. Masterson was immediately sent back to Double-A Portland following the game.
